Chapter 1059: Take The Risk?
Raze’s fingers were locked into the flesh of Mosak. His Dark Magic was already wreaking havoc inside his body. It was beyond the situation where he could reverse what he had done unless he had Light Magic at his disposal.
The issue was that, with how much affinity he had gained with Dark Magic, it would be an almost impossible task for him to gain any affinity with Light Magic.
Regardless of all this, Raze stopped for a moment. Defeating opponent after opponent, beast after beast, and after learning the Demonic Extraction technique, Raze had used it as one of his main methods of growing strength.
Typically, there were two differences with Raze. One was that the extraction technique didn’t work as well or as powerfully when used by others compared to Raze. He himself didn’t quite know the reason for this.
Was it due to the lingering Divine warrior from the Demonic Faction being attached to him, the bloody woman? Or was it due to his experience with magic and his ability to control mana perfectly that made it easier for him to perform? At the end of the day, it was likely a mix of these two things.
As for the second difference, an individual would never be able to best those who were stronger than them. For Raze, using his magic and Qi skills allowed him to defeat those far more powerful than him in terms of Qi.
Warriors who had lived hundreds of years building up their cultivation. After defeating them, he absorbed it all, adding it to his power. These were the things that had allowed Raze to grow his cultivation far quicker than others, and he planned to use it once again to take yet another step forward.
It was the first time since doing this that he contemplated not absorbing the energy from Mosak.
‘My body… it certainly feels like it’s already reached the peak. Almost as if the cells that make up a human can’t grow any further. It’s the same feeling one’s mana core has when they reach the 8th star.
‘In the past, people thought there was no way to reach the 9th star, and breaking through that limit itself is an enlightenment that only 9-star mages can understand. A new understanding of the mana around them. There’s no doubt in my mind-if I absorb Mosak, this body will reach the Divine warrior stage.’
The fear of the unknown was hitting Raze. The Divine warrior stage was certainly stronger than the Middle stage. But what did that mean for him? What Raze knew was that Divine warriors couldn’t use their full strength in Pagna.
But what about ascending to the other realm? Would he be forced out of this world? How would he come back to Pagna? Or would any of that happen at all? Mosak was in a mage’s body, and he was still able to use his Divine energy even now.
“Warriors of Pagna!” Raze shouted.
It didn’t take long for Lince to rush over, along with Zon, and it wasn’t just them. Hearing the shout from Raze, even Beatrix came rushing over with the Golden Globe still in her hand. She decided to stay a few meters away, still cautious of Mosak, who still appeared to have some sign of life in his eyes.
“The Divine realm. What happens when a person reaches that stage?” Raze asked.
His hand was starting to weaken, the effect of the pill already wearing off. All of the mana was beginning to drain from his body. He still had some Qi, but even that seemed to be fading.
Regardless, it didn’t look like Mosak could do anything anyway. He perhaps only had a few seconds left.
“The truth of the matter is, we don’t really know,” Lince answered. “The last time there was a Divine warrior was hundreds of years ago. And even if there were recent ones, it seems to happen after large-scale fights, leaving almost no witnesses alive.
“From what I can say, once a person reaches the Divine stage, it is stated that they
immediately exit this realm, not to be seen for a while.”
“And about coming back here? About coming back to Pagna?” Raze asked.
If he went to the Divine realm now, it would cause him a large amount of trouble. What he needed-the Golden Globe-was here, not up there. Even the people he was after were not in the Divine realm.
“That I do not know,” Lince answered, and judging by Beatrix’s silence, she didn’t know the answer either.
“I’ll tell you,” Mosak said, his eyes half-closing, but his smile remained on his face. “Coming back down from the Divine realm is no easy task. I don’t know who made up that rumor about Divine warriors descending, but that privilege is only granted to a select few.”
“Maybe it started to stop people from destroying clans after their most powerful warriors ascended. But regardless, it’s not easy at all. Belil was forcefully sent back down here by another. He was essentially kicked out of the Divine realm.”
“He’s lucky he even survived, and no one was sent after him. But I guarantee it won’t be the same for you. Those who can descend have eyes and ears everywhere. Knowing what you’ve done, they won’t let you leave that place so easily!”
Mosak’s breathing was becoming very shallow, and his Qi was quickly fading into nothing. In front of Raze was perhaps the power he needed to go against the Grand Magus.
He was still a 6-star mage, so he had three more stars to gain and was not at the peak of his magical ability. Even as a 9-star mage, he had failed before, so he needed the Qi to aid him.
‘I have to make a choice right now. Do I take the risk… or do I not?’ Raze thought to himself.

Chapter 1060: The Golden Globe Works?
A tough decision weighed on Raze’s mind, and he didn’t have much time to think about what was the best thing to do. Those around him had no clue what was going through his mind, or why it was so hard.
They weren’t quite aware of the full capabilities of Raze’s Demonic Extraction technique. He wasn’t even sure if he could trust Mosak’s words either. Surely the man would have a grudge against him and would deter him from getting even stronger than before. Gripping his other weak hand tighter, a voice had entered Raze’s head.
“Don’t do it.” The voice, whispery and soft yet echoing, was one he was familiar with. It was the bloody woman that was communicating with him. “What that man told you, it’s no lie. I’ve seen your strength and seen you grow, no doubt in my mind you would have a good chance of surviving.
“Especially if I was to aid you, but there’s no doubt getting back to Pagna, there will be those that try to stop you, and by then who knows how much time would have passed. The time for immortals becomes a blur, maybe those that you wish to defeat will have disappeared.”
Thinking about it, Raze also knew that there was a key difference between the truly powerful on Pagna and those on Alterian. The difference between mages and warriors, and that was their longevity.
Mages, even when increasing their star rank, didn’t improve the condition of their body. Through magic, medicine, and items, they could extend a mage’s life to around 150 years old.
However, it was nothing compared to the Pagna warriors that cultivated for hundreds of years or the Divine warriors that gained true immortality.
It was why Raze thought that maybe the Idore that he saw as a kid was a different Idore to the one that was known now, maybe even his son. Yet it was also possible that Idore, who was a genius at crafting special artifacts, had figured out a way to slow down his aging and not share this fact with the rest of Alterian.
Regardless, the truth was, that although Raze’s new body would be fine and if he became a Divine warrior, he would be able to live forever, that wasn’t the case for the enemies that he needed to take out.
Slowly Raze pulled out his hand. Blood wasn’t even on his fingertips due to the Dark Magic that was encasing them, that got rid of everything, and he allowed the body to fall to the floor.
When Lince saw this, he saw that Mosak’s body didn’t shrivel up like that of Sha Mo’s, and he started to have an idea of why Raze had asked the question he had done.
After looking at Mosak’s body for a while, something strange had started to occur. It started to shake on the ground aggressively for a short while. Raze knew that Mosak was dead, but it had even caused him to take a step back and hold his hand out.
He had tried to gather his magic when a stinging pain was felt in his chest.
‘Ah right… the pill. I don’t even have my magic right now,’ Raze thought.
Thinking about this, Raze turned his head to look at Zon.
“Zon, it looks like I might have to call in on that favor. For the next few hours, I’m going to have you look after me if anything happens.”
Zon nodded, not asking any questions, and even moved so he was closer to Raze just in case anything happened. As they continued to watch the body in front of them, they saw a strange golden energy come out of the body.
It looked like the same type of Qi energy that Mosak had been using throughout the fight. It swirled out of his body, making Mosak’s body look increasingly pale as more of the energy seeped out and headed above into the air until there was eventually nothing left.
‘The Divine realm, a world that’s separated from even our sight, a world that a person isn’t even able to travel into. There are many mysteries that are still needed to learn in this world,’ Raze thought, and with it, he could tell that his chance had disappeared.
No longer in the body that was left behind was there. No longer was there any energy left behind in the body for Raze to consume.
“It’s finally over, right?” Lince said. “With everything that happened, and it seems that there were more problems than I realized.”
Lince was looking over at Ricar, who was on the floor, and eventually approached Beatrix. She was still on guard and even held the Golden Globe close to her chest.
“Don’t worry. I’m not looking for the item, as long as you are keeping your promise and handing it over to Raze. After all, now that the others are gone, there’s no reason to wait for you to go to your secret meeting place, right?”
Beatrix had never thought of it like that. The situation had just kept changing one after the other in front of her. Whatever plans she had, they continuously kept changing, and she supposed they were right now.
But after giving the item to Raze, then what of her? Where would she go? What would she do then? Where was she meant to even take refuge?
“The reason why I actually wanted to come over was to ask if you wanted us to take his body back,” Lince offered. “I can look after his body, and when the time is right, we can deal with the situation then. That’s the least we can do for you helping us out.”
Raze finally turned to look at Beatrix. He had to say thanks to her for pulling through in this entire situation.
“Now that I think about it, artifacts work as well now, right?” Raze asked Zon, and knew from his own weapons working properly now compared to before. “If that’s the case, shouldn’t the Golden Globe work now as well?”

Chapter 1061: Not The Risk
When being attacked by Mosak, Beatrix had desperately tried to use the golden globe to escape. The issue was that she had no idea how to use the artifact that was in her hands in the first place and, at the time, if it would even work or not.
Now though, with Zon having used his own artifact he had taken from a Deleter, they were sure that artifacts could work.
“I have no problem with handing the item over to you now,” Beatrix said as she walked over, past Lince and Zon, and then, with both hands holding the item, she pushed it forward to hand it over to Raze.
“I do have a little bit of advice. I’m not so sure testing out the item and using it here is the best thing. Who knows what could come through there? Or maybe even several portal breaks could occur, and we would have to fight a large amount of beasts.”
Raze carefully took the item from Beatrix, handling it like a newborn baby. Although he was quite weak, he could still walk and move just fine. It wasn’t like when he had taken several of the Cursed Qi pills at once.
He actually agreed with Beatrix’s assessment. With him at his weakest, it wouldn’t be a good idea at all for him to mess around with such a powerful item. Still, he couldn’t believe it.
‘I finally have it. After all of this time, I have an item in my hand that allows me to head back to Alterian! Coming to this world, I couldn’t accept the fact that there might not be a way back. It took a lot, and the person who hid this item didn’t even want me to get my hands on such a thing, but I finally found it.’
After a while, Raze’s eyes were no longer glued to the golden globe itself, and he looked past at Beatrix, who was just standing there patiently, as if she was waiting for something.
“After everything that happened, you, in the end, decided to give the item to me. The decisions you had were multiple, and I’m not truly sure why you even decided to do such a thing.”
Beatrix’s cheeks were flushing red, as she didn’t know how to react to the words either. It almost felt like Raze was trying to compliment her, and she had no idea why she herself was acting like this.
“Regardless, what you did helped me out greatly, and because of that, in my world, that would mean I now owe you a favor. In the future, if there is anything I can do to help you, I will.”
Beatrix thought about asking for that favor now, perhaps letting her stay in the Demonic or Dark Faction for a bit, but after witnessing how great of a power the Dark Magus had, she thought maybe she should think about it for a bit and not rush into things. She could survive… she hoped.
“Can I ask? I might know the answer already, but for my own peace of mind, what exactly are you planning to do with that?” Beatrix asked.
She knew that Raze could just lie to her, but judging by his character so far, it wasn’t something that he would do. She wasn’t the only one interested. Both Zon’s and Lince’s ears seemed to perk up as they heard this.
“I also don’t know how to really use this,” Raze answered. “It could take a long time to figure it out, and it’s time I don’t want to waste. I plan to take it to the Bonum Society. Since the item originally belonged to them, I’m sure that they should know how to work it.”
Tilting her head, Beatrix had to admit she was left slightly confused. She hadn’t even heard of the Bonum Society, and now Raze was saying this item originally belonged to them. She realized that she, along with many of those in the Light Faction, really had no idea what was going on in the world of Pagna.
And this Otherworlder, who wasn’t even from Pagna, had found out so much.
“I suppose you want to know more about what I will be doing after that,” Raze continued. “You saw my memories, so it should come as no surprise. Using the item, I will head back to Alterian and fight against the Grand Magus one more time. I intend to win.
“After that, I will hand the item back to the Bonum Society and have them decide what is to be done with the item. I have no intention of doing anything to Pagna or getting in the warriors’ affairs.
“The Light Faction, Alter, and the Divine Realm-that is an issue that they can solve themselves. Who knows, though? Taking out the Grand Magus might even stop these portals from opening up all over Pagna, and more Otherworlders like myself from coming here, if what the founder said was true.”
Beatrix didn’t know why, although the answer had satisfied her worry that the Light Faction wouldn’t be punished or that Raze had no intention of hurting Pagna, she felt somewhat saddened, and it was for Raze.
After all this time in Pagna, he was still heavily tied up in the past and with his revenge. Yet she couldn’t be completely surprised herself. For the first time, she felt a part of her feeling the same thing.
Her face had turned toward Ricar.
With the conversations over and the item in Raze’s hand, Lince had picked up Ricar’s body, and all of them were to head in the direction of the ship they had come in. Beatrix had decided to go with the others, for now, at least until they had reached the main continent.
Raze was holding onto the golden globe tightly, waiting for his magic to come back so he could place the artifact away. They had taken a few steps heading in the general direction when Raze felt something. His feet stopped reaching each other.
‘The air… it feels almost still,’ Raze thought.
‘Do the others notice something?’ Raze turned around, and when he did, he could see them, frozen still. Lince was halfway from taking a step. Beatrix looked like she was in the middle of a sigh.
And Zon was staring ahead, doing next to nothing. All of them were deadly still, not moving at all. It was as if time itself had been frozen.

Chapter 1062: A special Type Of Magic
In the world of magic, there were the affinities that anyone was able to learn and gain affinity with. Fire, Wind, Earth, Ice, Lightning, Light, and even Dark. Learning such affinities, and having certain cores, would make it harder to learn other affinities, but technically any mage could learn all of these affinities, and that included Dark Magic.
Raze wasn’t special in that department; he was just ahead of everyone who had tried to learn that particular magic in the past.
Then there were mages who had unique magic traits, special talents that mages were born with, that only they could do. Along with this, there were also unique affinities-mages either born with or later in life discovering affinities that they could use. Not enough research had been placed into how or why this phenomenon had occurred, leading to mages and society in Alterian itself calling these mages the chosen ones.
For unlocking new types of magic, the issue was that with these rare affinities, the power also seemed to be dependent on the person, and with so few having rare affinities, in most cases, mages would still be better off learning the other affinities and improving them.
Still, there was no doubt that they had been chosen by the world of magic, just like those with unique traits. Once again, Raze didn’t have this. He was never born lucky in this world, born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
Seeing what was happening right now around him-how everyone was still and frozen in time -it led Raze to think back to these unique affinities.
‘This… I’ve been a mage lucky enough to see something like this before. It feels like it’s Time magic, but when I witnessed it, it was on a small scale. Stopping time on a singular object, or in a small area.’ Raze wafted his hand in the air.
It felt like even the air itself had frozen, not moving naturally to how he imagined it.
‘For Time magic to be used on this large of a scale? That has to be impossible, right? It has to be.’
“Will you look at that,” a voice said.
Raze immediately turned his head, and as he did, he could see a light blonde-haired man with round glasses on his face. A tall, slim frame, wearing a blazer that was buttoned up, along with a pair of straight long trousers that suited his long legs.
The man had an air of elegance around him, and based on the way he was dressed, Raze had no doubt that this man was a mage and was the one responsible for all of this.
“It’s you. You were the one responsible for this?” Raze asked.
“You are correct,” the man said, bowing down to Raze respectfully. “I’ve really wanted to meet you for a long time. You are quite the talented individual, and I hoped to see you rise the ranks in our organization.
“I guess what I’m saying might not make much sense, so let me introduce myself. I am Henio, the leader of Alter.”
Raze’s eyes widened immediately. From Charlotte, Raze had learned that the head and leader of Alter was a mage. It was quite clear that they were working with the Grand Magus in some way as well, due to the items they had used.
“In the end, who would have thought that your name would catch great attention from them? I don’t see too much of the big deal… that was until now. I honestly thought Red would be enough for this, but I had a feeling that something would happen, so I decided to come myself.
“To be honest though, it was pretty scary for me to step on this island, with magic not working and all. But then something happened, and now, I can use it just fine.”
Raze was grinding his teeth and cursing himself in the back of his mind for not seeing this. The head of Alter, being just a 6-star mage? Of course, that couldn’t be true. Why would such a person be in charge of a large organization that could even control the Light Faction from the shadows?
Raze had no preparations for this—to deal with a mage with the power of Time magic like this-especially right now, after taking a Qi pill already.
“Why do this? Why don’t you just kill me? You could have done that quite easily,” Raze asked.
“It seems you don’t know too much about my Time magic, but I’m not surprised; next to no one does,” Henio replied. “Taking you out wouldn’t be so easy. And besides, I have been told not to kill you. It seems someone wants to do that with their own two hands.”
That wasn’t too much of a surprise after how much trouble Raze had caused the Grand Magus -and perhaps even more in Pagna.
“They will live to regret it,” Raze said. “And not just them, you will live to regret not taking this chance right now.”
Henio smiled.
“That’s why I wanted to talk to you right now. This is my advice to you: stay out of it all. Alter, over hundreds of years, has gained countless artifacts. Those that are extremely powerful, that could have changed the state of Pagna long ago.
“We kept them behind closed doors for a long time. Your factions, your clans, everything you built up even if you were to go after us, it would be a battle that you can’t win. Don’t be stupid in your actions.”
Just like that, after finishing his sentence, Henio had disappeared. The air started to move again, and as Raze looked down at where his hands were, Henio wasn’t the only thing that had disappeared.
“What happened?” Zon asked. He had noticed a discrepancy in his system that kept track of time for him.
“What do you mean? Have you gone crazy?” Lince asked. “Or crazier, maybe I should say.”
“No, something has happened.” Zon looked ahead at Raze, who had turned around. His hands were held out, as if he was holding onto an object, yet nothing was in his hands.
“The golden globe is gone… Alter took it,” Raze answered.

Devastation loomed over everyone’s minds as they came to the realization of what had occurred. The Golden Globe, the very item they had fought so hard for, the one that had caused so much bloodshed, had disappeared just like that.
Snatched away at the last second. It was safe to say that everyone’s blood was boiling at what had happened. The real question was: who could they blame? Was it Raze for being careless at the last moment?
They couldn’t blame him. They were able to survive because of him. No one there could have done more and they were sure the person who would be most devastated over what had happened was Raze himself.
Currently, the group was slowly trekking through the jungle, heading back to where they had arrived from—where Lince and Zon had forced a ship to escort them to the island.
As they walked, Beatrix couldn’t help but speak up in her frustration.
“Can’t we go after him? He should still be on the island or somewhere here, right? I know where the ship with the Light Faction is; maybe we can head there!”
Beatrix wasn’t so sure the ship would still be there because she was sure Impress would have opted to leave the island as soon as possible, but she still imagined the man from Alter might have run off there.
“It’s pointless.” Raze answered. “That man had planned this; he’ll be long gone, and with his powers, it would be impossible to catch up to him.”
The others understood the gist of what had occurred, but it wasn’t from Raze himself. Instead, they had a clearer understanding from Zon, who noticed the item’s disappearance. Zon suspected it had to be some type of magic at work.
With all of them having experienced more magic on this trip, they knew it was a strange power that none of them clearly understood, apart from Raze, that is.
“But we can’t just give up. Now that Alter has the item, who knows what they will do?” Beatrix said. She couldn’t just let Ricar’s sacrifice go to waste like that. Why did he have to die? Why did all of the Light Faction members have to die?
How could such scum come in at the last moment after not going through the trials and take the item? It was making her hair quickly turn gray with how much she was thinking about it.
“They will have the same trouble as all of us would if we had the item.” Raze answered. “Even Alter, with all their men, won’t know how to fully use it. I’m sure Bofan would have thought that far.”
“It gives us some time, but not a lot of it. I assure you, I’m not giving up.”
As Raze walked, he was thinking about everything that needed to be done—the power of Alter, the power of the Light Faction. He had been so close; it had been in his hands and was snatched away. He couldn’t let them get away with it.
While traveling through the jungle, the group hadn’t come across any beasts. Lince and Zon noticed a few of them staring curiously their way, but the curiosity quickly faded as they rushed off into the distance.
Lince had his theories as to why this was. Even though Raze wasn’t emitting any type of Qi or mana, his presence alone was scaring the beasts off. They knew better than anyone right now: this was not the right situation to anger him further.
Finally, they reached the very edge and could see the white sandy beaches up ahead. The sound of bickering and talking continued from the front. Stepping out first were Lince and Zon.
“This isn’t good news.” Lince claimed. “Although, I did somewhat expect this.”
The sight in front of them was a sunken ship. The crew they had politely asked to help bring them ashore to the island had been unable to protect it from the attacks by the wild monkeys.
Originally, there was a small amount of damage to the ship—enough to perhaps fix up—but somehow, more of it had been damaged, and now most of the ship was just in pieces, floating about.
“Sir, we greatly apologize for this!” three men shouted as they rushed over. One with unkempt, unruly hair and an eyepatch on his right side. Another, a large man, keen to show his muscles, and a skinny figure to the far left.
“We tried our best to look after the ship, and then it turned out like this! We’re just so glad you’re back; please, we have to get off this island! It’s crazy, the beasts are crazy!” one of the men stated.
“Right, this island is cursed. There was even a man running across the water. We can’t deal with it anymore. You got what you wanted, right? We can head back now, right?”
“What should we do? Do you have an option for us to get back?”
“Get back? That’s going to be pretty hard with no ship,” Lince replied.
Just then, shifting out from the back were two more individuals: Beatrix and Raze. Continue your journey on empire
The men immediately fell back as they pointed at Raze with shaking fingers.
“That’s him! That’s the man… the running water man!”
Lince and Zon turned to look at him and could only imagine what they meant by that.
“Oh, should we add that to the list of names given to you?” Lince asked. “And I would be careful pointing at that man. He’s not in the best of moods as it is.”
Looking at the situation, if they waited a while, maybe Raze could do something with his Wind magic or Ice magic to help them get back. But that was somewhat tiring, and he didn’t want to waste his magic. He needed to recover as much as possible.
“Captain! Captain!” One of the men shouted from further ashore. He was looking out with his telescope.
“We’re saved! It’s a miracle! Another ship is heading our way!” the man shouted.
As the others looked off into the distance, they recognized who it was, and for a moment, the great anger that clouded Raze seemed to somewhat subside.
“They’re safe. That’s good to see.”
Beatrix took a glance at Raze, and she wasn’t so sure about what she had seen. She wondered if she might have even imagined it.
’Was that a smile I saw? Who are these people to him?’
