His movements were too fast, his fighting style too unorthodox for any mage she knew. But as he turned, the glow of his gloves caught her eye, and it finally clicked.

She remembered that face.

Alen had appeared once or twice in the public sphere, not as some celebrity or political figure, but as a decorated military mage. He’d stood on podiums during major academy events, sometimes acting as a spokesperson, other times demonstrating advanced spellwork.

That was where she’d seen him before. And now he was here, in the middle of their secret operation.

’He’s with the military,’ she realized, her eyes narrowing. ’But why? Why are they here? Is this some rogue division acting on their own? Or… have the Grand Magus turned on each other?’

The possibilities raced through her mind, each one worse than the last. Whatever the reason, it didn’t matter. Alen’s power was becoming a problem. One of her guildmates, an elite among elites, was barely holding his ground against him.

If this continued, they could actually lose one of their own.

Yellum clenched her jaw. She never thought she’d see such a day, but this wasn’t a matter of weakness. It was a testament to Alen’s raw talent.

She turned toward the blond-haired warrior beside her. “Tonto,” she said sharply. “Go after the fire mage with the gloves. You have to stop him, now.”

Tonto looked over his shoulder. He was already growing bored, dispatching the lesser mages in front of him with casual cruelty. A spike of ice pierced straight through one soldier’s chest, dropping him instantly.

“Finally,” he muttered, stretching his neck. “Something interesting.”

Leaving the others to finish off what was left, Tonto dashed toward Alen’s position. Golden energy flared around his body as he swung an arm to block a stream of fire that had been aimed at his teammate.

When the flames dispersed, he looked up, and smiled.

“Man, you’ve got some pretty strong attacks,” Tonto said, his tone almost playful. “No wonder my friend was struggling. And that fighting style of yours… it’s really interesting.”

A burst of flame erupted from Alen’s hand and skimmed past Tonto’s cheek, burning a strip of skin. The wound sealed seconds later, the skin regenerating under a faint golden glow. His grin didn’t fade.

“I see,” Tonto said. “You’re kind of rude, aren’t you? Guess I’ll have to beat some manners into you.”

Behind him, the injured Cerebus mage backed off, moving to rejoin the larger fight. Tonto stepped forward, cracking his knuckles, his wings of light spreading faintly behind him.

Alen didn’t flinch. Whoever this man was didn’t matter. If they wanted to survive this battle, he needed to take down Tonto and Yellum, no matter the cost.

He began his assault immediately.

Flames burst from his hands in rapid succession, each one smaller than a standard fireball but faster, sharper, and harder to predict. They came from every direction, left, right, above, and below, forcing his opponent to react constantly.

Tonto responded with a mix of earth and water magic. He raised slabs of stone to shield himself, then conjured pools of liquid midair that absorbed and redirected the incoming fire. The attacks clashed one after another, lighting the field with bursts of orange and blue.

Some of Alen’s flames broke through, striking Tonto directly across the chest and shoulder. The blows landed, but Tonto didn’t even flinch. His eyes never left Alen. He didn’t blink, didn’t stagger.

The burns on his skin sizzled for only a second before fading completely.

’What is with this guy?’ Alen thought, his brow furrowing. ’He doesn’t react to pain at all. Maybe he can’t anymore… maybe after everything they’ve done to themselves, they’ve lost the ability to feel anything.’

The thought sickened him. It wasn’t just the Grand Magus manipulating people now, it was the entire chain of power beneath them.

He fired another burst of flames, faster this time. The blaze streaked across the battlefield, but before it could strike, Tonto raised his hand. Golden energy coated his arm, and with a single motion, he sliced straight through the fire.

The flames scattered apart and vanished into embers.

“I think,” Tonto said, his grin widening, “I’ve got the hang of it now.”

Golden energy flared brighter around both his arms. Then, without warning, he swung them forward.

Thin arcs of golden light shot out with terrifying speed, flickering like lightning as they sliced through the air toward Alen.

Alen reacted instantly. He ducked under the first blast, then twisted to the side, using bursts of fire beneath his feet to propel himself away. The next attack grazed his shoulder, tearing his sleeve apart.

Tonto kept swinging, sending a rain of golden energy toward him, each one faster, sharper, and heavier than the last.

Alen’s body moved on instinct. He dodged, rolled, and redirected his momentum with bursts of flame. He could feel the heat building on his skin, the pressure in the air growing thicker.

Then, one of the blasts hit.

It wasn’t a direct strike, he managed to weaken it with a quick burst of fire, but the force still sent him spinning backward. He hit the ground hard, nearly losing balance.

Before he could crash, Alen planted both palms behind him and blasted a jet of fire downward. The explosion propelled him upright again, sliding him back into a fighting stance.

Smoke curled off his burned glove. He exhaled, his eyes narrowing.

And then he realized it, the strange feeling that had been nagging at him since Tonto’s last few moves.

The rhythm of his attacks. The sudden change in movement. The way Tonto was fighting now wasn’t random.

It was his style.

The one Alen had worked so hard to perfect, the close-range, rapid-casting technique inspired by Pagna’s warriors.

Tonto had mimicked it. Instantly.

’The style I spent years developing,’ Alen thought, his eyes burning with disbelief. ’The one I trained for day and night… he copied it just like that?’

Tonto raised his hand again, that same predatory grin returning.

“Come on,” he said. “Show me more. I want to see how far this little dance of yours goes.”

***

**

For updates for MWS and future works, please follow me on my social media below.

Instagram: Jksmanga

Patreon*: jksmanga

Chapter 1561: Beatrix’s Struggle (Part 1)

As Yellum scanned the battlefield, two individuals immediately caught her attention. Now that Tonto was handling Alen, her focus shifted to the other problem, the radiant woman cutting through their ranks like a flash of light.

Beatrix.

Yellum turned sharply, her eyes locking onto the figure who glowed amidst the chaos, sword in hand. There was something about her presence, a steadiness, a confidence, that made her stand out even among the chaos of spells.

The Cerebus Guild member who had been fighting Beatrix raised both hands. Golden energy gathered at his fingertips, condensing into eight separate blasts that flared out in all directions.

The beams curved, homing in from every angle.

Beatrix didn’t hesitate. The moment the air around her began to hum, she released a surge of Qi, propelling herself upward. Her body shot off the ground, and the attacks collided with the spot where she’d been standing, erupting in a deafening blast.

“Ha!” the Cerebus mage laughed. “I thought you might dodge, but the energy’s still coming for you!”

As his words echoed, four of the golden beams twisted midair, tracking her movements. The magic was adaptive, almost alive, chasing her as she soared higher. Then, with both hands extended forward, the man unleashed one final blast, a massive golden ray that roared straight toward her.

The trap was perfect. There was nowhere left to run.

But Beatrix didn’t feel fear.

She understood exactly how powerful their energy was. She knew that even with her Pagna-hardened body, a single hit could shatter bones. The key wasn’t to block it. It was to never be hit at all.

Her hand tightened around her staff as it shifted, its form dissolving into light before reemerging as a nearly translucent blue sword. The weapon shimmered like liquid crystal, humming with otherworldly energy.

The beams struck. From every side, golden light crashed into her at once, engulfing her in a violent explosion that illuminated the entire field.

The Cerebus mage grinned widely. “That’s what happens when you fight us,” he said proudly. “You, “

His words cut short.

A figure burst through the explosion, completely unharmed. The light peeled away, revealing Beatrix, her blue sword gleaming in the haze. She moved like a streak of wind, appearing in front of him before he could even raise a hand.

It was the sword that Raze had given her, the cursed weapon that allowed its wielder to phase through anything. But every time she used it, the cost was steep. Her body aged. Her life burned away piece by piece.

Still, she didn’t hesitate.

“I’ll just heal whatever damage you deal to me!” the Cerebus mage shouted, raising his hand.

Beatrix’s blade sliced through the air.

In a single, clean motion, she cut across his neck. His body froze for a heartbeat, then his head slid from his shoulders, falling to the ground with a dull thud.

Normally, Beatrix avoided killing when she could. She preferred to incapacitate, to bring her enemies in alive. But this wasn’t one of those times.

After seeing the horrors inside that facility, after watching the innocent suffer at the hands of these so-called researchers, she knew mercy had no place here.

And when she saw the man’s body collapse, his golden light flickering and fading away, she knew this was one wound even the Cerebus Guild couldn’t heal.

Her breath steadied. For a moment, the battlefield seemed to slow.

Then, without warning, Beatrix felt a surge of mana behind her.

She turned sharply, jumping backward just as multiple energy blasts tore through the spot where she had been standing. Golden streaks ripped across the air, one after another, forcing her to move side to side in quick bursts. Her reflexes saved her, but only barely.

When the barrage finally stopped, Beatrix looked ahead.

Yellum had landed.

Her dark hair framed her face like blades, and her expression was cold. Her eyes lingered on her fallen ally before lifting to meet Beatrix’s.

“Damn,” Yellum said flatly. “Too late.” She exhaled sharply. “I knew you’d be trouble.”

Her gaze shifted back to the corpse at her feet, her tone turning sharp and bitter. “What a waste. After all that energy, years and years of development, and for what? To fall here? He was supposed to contribute to something greater.”

Her voice grew harder, tinged with conviction. “You people don’t understand. We’re not meant to die here. We’re meant for something bigger. You’re getting in the way of everything we’ve worked for!”

Beatrix didn’t respond.

She charged.

Her feet tore through the ground, her Qi flaring as she weaved side to side. The air cracked under her momentum.

Yellum raised her hand, her expression still calm. Streams of golden light erupted from her fingertips, thin, precise, continuous. Beams of energy, like glowing threads, sliced through the air.

They weren’t blasts; they were lasers. Each one moved with deadly precision, following Beatrix’s movements like guided blades.

Beatrix twisted her body, ducking and sliding through the barrage. The beams sliced through her cloak, but not her skin. Then, seeing no other option, she invoked her sword’s ability once more.

Her form shimmered. The golden energy passed through her body harmlessly, distorting the air around her like heat waves.

In the same instant, she surged forward, appearing at Yellum’s side in a burst of speed. Her sword swung for the woman’s neck, aiming to end the fight in one clean strike.

But Yellum was ready.

From her other hand, a single beam of condensed light shot out. It wasn’t a wide blast this time, but a needle-thin stream, so dense and focused that it met Beatrix’s blade and stopped it cold.

The two forces clashed, Beatrix’s cursed sword against Yellum’s piercing light. Sparks of golden and blue energy scattered between them.

Yellum’s eyes hardened. “Why?” she demanded, her voice shaking with fury. “Why are you standing in our way? Don’t you understand how much we’ve sacrificed, for all of us?”

*****

For updates for MWS and future works, please follow me on my social media below.

Instagram: Jksmanga

*Patreon: jksmanga

When news of MVS, MWS, or any other series comes out, you will be able to see it there first, and you can reach out to me. However…” Her eyes narrowed slightly. “If you want to attack your opponent, then you can’t phase through your sword, can you?”

Her words were calculated, testing Beatrix’s limits.

It wasn’t entirely true, of course. And Beatrix was quick to prove it.

Without a word, she shifted her stance. The faint shimmer around her weapon deepened as she adjusted her energy. Her translucent blue sword phased partially out of reality, sliding through the air with ghostly precision. She moved to strike, her blade slipping through space toward Yellum’s chest.

But before Beatrix could land her blow, Yellum fired.

Dozens of golden beams erupted from her other hand, blazing toward Beatrix’s midsection. The light was so blinding it cut through the air like molten glass.

Beatrix instantly extended her weapon’s phasing effect across her body. The golden beams passed straight through her torso as if she were made of smoke, and she pushed herself backward to create distance.

’She’s fast,’ Beatrix thought, landing lightly on her feet. ’And precise. But I’ve dealt with opponents who healed faster than this.’

Her mind drifted, remembering the battle with the Light Faction leader, an opponent whose regenerative powers bordered on immortality. The difference, though, was clear. Yellum’s energy wasn’t divine or disciplined. It was wild, flowing freely, pulsing with reckless force.

And there was something else gnawing at Beatrix. The words Yellum had spoken earlier still echoed in her head.

“You’re trying to convince yourself that your actions are righteous?” Beatrix called out, her voice firm. “What I saw inside that facility, that wasn’t righteous. You can justify it however you want, but you’re no savior. Let the public see what you’ve done and decide for themselves if you’re right!”

Her voice cut through the noise of battle like a blade. Then, without waiting for an answer, she charged.

Yellum raised her hand, unleashing another barrage of golden beams. The air shimmered with energy as the attacks streaked toward Beatrix. This time, instead of phasing through, Beatrix raised her sword and began to parry.

Her blade glowed with soft blue Qi as she performed the Half Moon Crescent technique, an advanced maneuver from the Light Faction’s sword forms. Each swing deflected an incoming beam, redirecting its energy harmlessly aside. The rhythm of the strikes was precise, every movement deliberate.

To Yellum, it must have looked like five radiant swords clashing against her magic at once.

Beatrix pushed forward, weaving through the storm. When she closed the distance, her sword blazed brighter with Qi. She leapt high into the air, twisting mid-fall, and came crashing down toward Yellum in a single decisive strike.

But just before her sword connected, an explosion of energy erupted from Yellum’s body. A massive wave of golden light burst outward, shaking the ground beneath them.

The shockwave slammed into Beatrix, throwing her off balance. She hit the ground hard, sliding across the dirt, the air knocked out of her lungs.

She wasn’t badly injured, but the power behind that blast was immense. It wasn’t just light, it was compressed force.

Beatrix steadied herself, rising quickly. Across from her, Yellum stood untouched, her expression unreadable.

’If that attack had been from my old self,’ Beatrix thought grimly, ’I could have broken through her defense. But whatever technique she’s using, it’s far beyond standard magic. Her power is increasing.’

Yellum’s lips curved into a cold smile. She raised both hands and began to channel an overwhelming amount of energy. The golden light gathered between her palms, growing brighter until it was painful to look at.

’Still,’ Yellum thought to herself, feeling the mana pulsing through her veins, ’the energy we’ve gained, the Light Affinity we’ve perfected, it’s unlike anything else in this world.’

With a final motion, she brought her hands together and released the spell.

A colossal beam of golden light erupted forward. It tore through the air like a tunnel of energy, heading straight for Beatrix.

The blast wasn’t meant to kill just her, it was wide enough to consume everything behind her too. Beatrix could sense it. If she phased through this attack, it would strike the others fighting behind her. Yellum had designed it that way deliberately.

“I know my people will survive!” Yellum shouted over the roaring magic. “But can you say the same for your allies?”

Beatrix’s eyes widened as she saw the beam stretching across the field. The sheer force of it rippled the ground. Her instincts screamed at her to dodge, but she couldn’t.

She clenched her sword tightly, her breathing steadying. She wouldn’t let the others die, not here.

“I’ll stop it,” she whispered.

And then her body began to change.

The tips of her silver hair turned crimson, the color bleeding down to the strands along her back. A red aura pulsed from her body, spiraling down her arms. Her Qi, normally a cool, soothing blue, flared scarlet, swirling like living fire.

From her wrist, the energy condensed into veins of pure blood-colored light that wrapped around her sword.

When Yellum’s beam reached her, Beatrix thrust her blade forward.

The red energy collided with the golden light, and the world seemed to split in two. The shockwave rippled across the battlefield, shaking the very ground they stood on.

The impact roared like thunder, and for a moment, everything vanished in a haze of light.

When it cleared, Beatrix stood in the center of the devastation, her sword still outstretched, her body trembling slightly from the force.

She had stopped it.

Her technique and the Blood Qi’s power had countered Yellum’s devastating spell.

But as she turned her head, her heart sank.

The beam had split. The redirected energy had hit those behind her, three of her allies, and even one of the Cerebus members. The guild mage was already healing, his wounds closing rapidly. But her comrades… they were gone.

All that remained were their boots, the ground scorched where they’d stood.

“What the hell, Yellum!” one of the surviving Cerebus mages shouted in frustration. “A little warning would’ve been nice! You took out the ones I was supposed to handle, what am I supposed to do now?”

Beatrix stood frozen, staring at the remnants of her fallen allies. The weight of it hit her all at once. Her jaw tightened, her grip trembling on her sword.

She had seen enough death for one lifetime.

There was only one option left.

“Bloody woman…” she whispered, her voice barely audible. “You’re still inside me, aren’t you?”

Her red Qi flared brighter, spreading through every vein in her body. “Then use me,” she shouted. “Use my body however you want, to get rid of every last one of the Cerebus Guild members here!”

****

*****

For updates for MWS and future works, please follow me on my social media below.

Instagram: Jksmanga

*Patreon: jksmanga

When news of MVS, MWS, or any other series comes out, you will be able to see it there first, and you can reach out to me. It wasn’t like what had happened with Raze, where the Bloody Woman’s presence had been a voice lingering in his mind, haunting him like a shadow.

For Beatrix, it was different.

In the end, it was her personality that had taken dominance. She was the one at the forefront, her own will intact. To her, it didn’t feel like anything had changed, her thoughts were the same, her emotions the same. Even her morals remained untouched.

But there was still fear.

She could access the Bloody Woman’s power now, the blood-soaked energy that slept deep within her veins. Yet every time she called upon it, she feared what it might cost. The more she used that strength, the more she worried she would lose pieces of herself.

It had happened once before, at the Wilton Academy assessment. She’d felt the power rise inside her like a tide, swallowing everything else. That same dread now lingered in her heart, whispering that the more she gave in, the less of her would remain.

So, for a long time, she avoided it. She used her own Qi, her own strength, and only brushed against that deeper power when she had no choice.

But now… after seeing her allies die right in front of her, people who had done nothing but fight for justice, something inside her cracked.

She didn’t want to control it anymore.

’You’re in me somewhere, right?’ Beatrix thought desperately. Her body trembled as she pressed a hand against her chest. ’Maybe you’re not watching, maybe you’ve faded, but your power’s still here. So take it. Take control and destroy every one of them. I don’t care anymore, just end this!’

She waited for a voice, a spark, anything. But there was no answer. No whisper. No pulse of power.

Only silence.

Beatrix’s knees hit the ground. Her sword slipped from her fingers and clattered beside her. Tears spilled down her cheeks, dripping into the dust below.

Across from her, Yellum hovered midair, her radiant wings casting a golden glow over the field. She tilted her head slightly, watching Beatrix with a mixture of pity and disgust.

“Come on,” Yellum sneered. “You’re crying? Over this?” She gestured toward the scorched ground where Beatrix’s allies had fallen. “Were they your family? People you actually cared about? I doubt it. You probably barely knew them, and now you’re weeping like a child.”

Her lips twisted into a smile. “People like you make me sick.”

This was her chance. The last exchange hadn’t injured Beatrix, but now she was broken, emotionally shattered.

Yellum raised her hand, golden light forming between her fingers. “Pathetic,” she said. “Crying over the dead? You don’t even understand what sacrifice means.”

The beam formed, a concentrated spear of light, smaller than her previous attack but focused and lethal. It shot from her hand, cutting through the air toward Beatrix’s head.

“This is mercy,” Yellum whispered.

But just before it struck, a hand rose from the ground.

Beatrix’s hand.

Her fingers closed around the beam, stopping it midair.

The light hissed and crackled against her palm, the energy thrashing wildly, but it didn’t burn her.

’What… what is this?’ Yellum thought, her eyes widening. ’That’s pure mana energy! Even without an affinity, it’s stronger than ordinary magic! She shouldn’t be able to touch it, let alone stop it!’

The beam of golden light began to dim, and Yellum noticed something else. Around Beatrix’s hand, a faint red aura had begun to swirl. The crimson light pulsed and twisted, consuming the golden glow that had once been Yellum’s attack.

Slowly, Beatrix began to rise. Her head stayed bowed, her hair falling forward, shadowing her face. The red energy around her hand grew brighter, thicker, spreading up her arm like liquid fire.

“What is this?” Yellum shouted, her voice rising with frustration. “Is this another one of your tricks?”

Beatrix didn’t respond.

“You think this changes anything?” Yellum screamed. “All of you are going to die! Every last one of you! When this is over, the Cerebus Guild will be praised as the saviors of Alterian!”

Yellum thrust both hands forward. Twin beams of golden light erupted from her palms, surging toward Beatrix. Her wings stretched wide, glowing brilliantly as she poured everything she had into the attack.

The air trembled. The ground cracked beneath the force.

But Beatrix didn’t move.

The golden energy slammed into her body, into her outstretched hand, and stopped. It didn’t push her back. It didn’t burn her skin. The crimson aura around her hand absorbed it, devouring every spark.

The light twisted and coiled, feeding the growing red flame that now danced up Beatrix’s arm.

“Impossible,” Yellum whispered. She poured more power into her attack, her teeth gritted, sweat forming across her forehead. But no matter how much energy she released, the result was the same.

The red aura only grew stronger.

The beams of golden light began to dissolve, swallowed whole by the crimson power. The air around Beatrix shimmered like heat off molten metal.

Then, she made a fist.

The swirling red energy surged, crawling up her entire arm, coating it like liquid blood until it glowed brighter than any flame. Her hand clenched tight, and with a single motion, she swung her arm forward.

The punch didn’t even touch Yellum directly.

But the shockwave that followed did.

The explosion of power was deafening. The ground split beneath Beatrix’s feet. The red energy collided with the golden light and shattered it instantly. The sky itself seemed to flicker as the two forces clashed, and a burst of crimson light ripped through the field.

Yellum screamed.

The force tore through her defenses, through her armor of light, through her very body. When the energy cleared, she looked down in disbelief, her entire right arm was gone.

Not burned. Not severed. Simply… gone.

Erased.

Pain radiated through her body as she stumbled backward, clutching at the space where her limb should have been. Her golden wings flickered and dimmed.

’What is this power?’ she thought, panic clawing at her chest. ’That energy, it’s not mana… it’s something else. It’s alive.’

Her body trembled as she stared at Beatrix.

***

*****

For updates for MWS and future works, please follow me on my social media below.

Instagram: Jksmanga

*Patreon: jksmanga

When news of MVS, MWS, or any other series comes out, you will be able to see it there first, and you can reach out to me. No response. No shift inside her chest. It was as if the other presence, the one that once burned through her veins, had vanished entirely.

Maybe she could force the power out herself, she thought. Draw it out through sheer will. But there was no guarantee it would work.

Then a thought struck her.

The last time the Bloody Woman’s power had awakened, it wasn’t because Beatrix called for it. It had happened when she was hurt, when her body was breaking, and her mind was on the edge of collapse. During that moment, her memories and thoughts had blurred, and something else had stepped forward.

What if the Bloody Woman wasn’t separate at all? What if she existed inside Beatrix’s subconscious, only emerging when Beatrix’s conscious mind was forced aside?

That would mean the Bloody Woman only appeared when Beatrix herself couldn’t act.

If that was true… then the only way to bring her out might be to fall unconscious.

But that was dangerous.

A blow too strong could cause permanent damage, or worse, kill her before the Bloody Woman ever had a chance to emerge. The entire plan was a gamble built on nothing more than instinct and fragments of memory.

Still, Beatrix wasn’t one to back down.

If she couldn’t knock herself out, then maybe she could reach that subconscious state deliberately.

She was a warrior from Pagna, trained to master her body and spirit. Meditation, cultivation, was second nature to her. A Pagna warrior could empty their mind completely, entering a state of clarity that few could achieve.

If she could push herself deep enough into that space between wakefulness and stillness, maybe her subconscious would take over naturally.

It was a risk. But one she was willing to take.

So she focused. She cleared her mind, drawing in a steady breath even as chaos unfolded around her. The screams, the clashing magic, all of it faded into a dull hum. Her heart slowed. Her thoughts became quiet.

And then, instinctively, her body moved.

The next thing she knew, she had blocked Yellum’s attack and unleashed a counterstrike powerful enough to obliterate Yellum’s arm completely.

Yellum hadn’t even seen it happen. One moment she was mid-attack, and the next, her entire arm was gone. There had been no visible movement, no telegraphed strike. It was instantaneous.

She stared at the space where her limb used to be, her mind struggling to comprehend it. Ever since she had gained her immense Light Magic affinity, she hadn’t been injured, let alone dismembered.

Panic rippled through her chest.

But the radiant glow of her magic began to gather around the wound. Light particles swirled, knitting themselves together where her arm had been. Her healing ability was working, faster than ever. In a few seconds, her arm would be fully restored.

Still, Yellum took a cautious step back.

Then Beatrix lifted her head.

Her eyes, once calm and composed, now gleamed with piercing red light.

Yellum froze.

Immediately after, the air around Beatrix began to distort. The Qi that once radiated softly from her body now rippled like waves of blood. It rose, then fell, soaking into her skin until both of her forearms glowed dark crimson. From her fingertips to her elbows, her arms looked as though they were dipped in liquid fire.

Yellum’s throat tightened.

’She’s changing again,’ she realized.

Her newly healed arm flexed as she closed her wings protectively around her body. If Beatrix was preparing another attack, she’d be ready for it this time.

Seconds passed.

Nothing happened.

“What…?” Yellum muttered under her breath. “She’s not attacking me.”

Carefully, she opened her wings, just enough to peek through the golden feathers.

And what she saw made her blood run cold.

High above the battlefield, one of the Cerebus Guild members had been flung into the air, launched effortlessly by Alen’s soldiers. The man was spinning helplessly, his arms flailing as he tried to cast a spell.

Then Beatrix moved.

She swung her arm through the air, and a pulse of red energy erupted from her fist.

The blood-colored aura swirled outward like a storm, gathering into a single point before exploding forward. It wasn’t a fireball or a beam, it was a cannon blast of pure Qi.

The attack tore through the air and collided with the airborne Cerebus member.

The impact was catastrophic.

A massive chunk of his torso vanished instantly. His body twisted from the force, blood and golden energy scattering like dust. But Beatrix didn’t stop.

One strike after another followed, each blow faster and stronger than the last. Every punch unleashed another burst of crimson energy. Each one carved away another piece of her opponent.

His leg, gone.

His arm, gone.

His chest, half destroyed.

And when the final strike landed, part of his head was missing.

Even with all the Light Magic in the world, there was no recovering from that.

Still, Beatrix wasn’t done.

The ground beneath her cracked as she pushed off. In an instant, she disappeared from sight.

Then, with an explosion of force, she erupted from the earth right behind another Cerebus Guild member. Her body shimmered with red energy, her blood aura spinning violently around her arm like a vortex.

And then, the blood began to move.

The crimson liquid spilling from the corpse above her, the blood of the man she had just killed, lifted into the air, drawn toward her like metal to a magnet. It wrapped around her wrist, merging with her own aura, forming a swirling mass of red light.

Beatrix raised her hand high, then swung it downward.

The explosion that followed was like thunder.

A colossal beam of blood-red energy crashed down from the sky, hitting the Cerebus Guild member squarely in the chest. The impact blew apart the ground, kicking up dirt and smoke that filled the air.

When the dust finally settled, there was nothing left of the man. Not even ashes.

Two of the five Cerebus Guild members, both gone. Both killed by Beatrix’s hand.

Yellum could only stare.

Beatrix landed softly, her movements mechanical, her expression blank. The faint crimson glow around her eyes didn’t waver.

Yellum’s heart raced.

’Is she even conscious at this point?’ she thought, panic creeping into her chest. ’What is this… what kind of monster is she?’

Her hands trembled as she began to retreat, her wings beating to lift her off the ground.

’I have to let the Grand Magus know,’ she thought, her pulse pounding in her ears. ’They need to know what we’re dealing with… before it’s too late.’

***

**

For updates for MWS and future works, please follow me on my social media below.

Instagram: Jksmanga

Patreon*: jksmanga

Chapter 1560: A New Style (Part 2) Among the chaos of battle, Yellum’s gaze fixed on one particular fighter, Alen.
