Chapter 1089: Target Located
Located in the Hang district, in an open area, was a large, well-known guild known as the Orian Guild. They had a large plot of land with carefully cut grass at the front, leading up to the big guild building.
Beyond that, there was even a location at the back where the guild members could train, fighting against each other using their magic.
This guild was well known because it was one that focused on portal expeditions. Whether they were hired by companies to gain a large number of beast crystals or to search for magical artifacts, they had their uses in society.
They also had quite powerful members, and often the crystals they did obtain, or artifacts, would be passed on to the larger guilds above, those that were run by the Grand Magus.
They were just a step below the guilds that were actually run by the Grand Magus, which was why, in particular, Harvey had selected this guild in particular. Little did he know, it was a special day for the Orian Guild.
In one of the large training halls the guild often used, there was a special event occurring. Rows of seats had been set up, and young students, mostly teenagers in high school, along with their parents, were present, sat down.
There had to be at least four hundred guests in the room itself, and with it, the guild, who were dressed in dark blue, a mixture of blazers and robes, added another two hundred in the room itself.
The mages in the room were guild members that were coming to watch the demonstration. In the entire guild building, though, there were around a thousand members that were present currently, and in total, the guild had around five thousand members.
In the room, the seats were pointed towards a carefully crafted stage. There were a group of twelve mages, groups of three of them dressed slightly differently. Some of them were holding staves, and some even had swords by their side.
Standing at the front was a dark-skinned, muscular man named Azbeth, the Guild Leader of the Orian Guild. He stepped out slightly ahead of the others as he came to the front of the stage.
“It’s important when applying to join a guild that you know what position and what benefit you will add to the team,” Azbeth explained. “It’s not just about what the affinity your core is, or what you specialize in, there are also positions.”
The group of three mages with staves held in their hands moved forward.
“Inside a portal expedition, there are beasts that we might come across from time to time, and in order to battle them, it’s ideal that we have the correct lineup.”
“These three are mages that specialize in ranged magic, and as for the others, they are magic sword users, who focus on enhancing their bodies and weapons with magic to fight.”
“It’s because of these special formations of teams that we have, that the Orian Guild has managed to get into the position it is today. When we look for new guild members, we keep in mind what the guild currently has.”
“So there are various positions that are more open. As you know, there is somewhat of a rarity when it comes to magic sword users, so they are quite in high demand.”
Azbeth then pulled out a sword himself. It was long, straight, and clean. As he held it up in the air, lightning started to surround the weapon.
“Not many wish to go down this path of magic, as it’s quite dangerous for us to get in close, but the effects of magic can be greater. My sword with a lightning enchantment and moving myself with Wind magic allows me to stay safe.”
“And it’s not always true that magic sword users can’t strike from far.” Azbeth pointed his sword straight ahead, and a lightning strike shot out from the tip.
It went through the air and hit the back of the room, leaving a black mark. Azbeth quickly placed his sword back away, and the audience watching started to clap.
“As a five-star magic swordsman, if those have some interest in sword magic, I am happy to train them myself. This is one of the benefits of joining the Orian Guild.”
“Of course, not just anyone can join; I would have to see potential in you myself. Now on the stage, I will have the squad demonstrate how they are able to fight together…” Azbeth had continued on about his presentation to the rest of the high school students and parents.
While one of the men stood up, he looked around and walked off to the corner and looked at a mage.
“I’m just heading to the toilet.”
The mage stepped to the side. “Down the hall and to your right. Don’t go in the wrong one.” “Right.” The man awkwardly smiled and made it down the hallway. When he was in the toilet itself, he checked each of the stalls, and he could tell they were empty; he was the only one that was inside.
“It seems we might have a particular situation here. There’s some event going on. It looks like the guild is doing some presentation to a school or something. Should we proceed?”
The man waited for a reply. “An audience for us? This is perfect; we will proceed as expected.” The man nodded, and then with a click of his fingers, Dark magic swirled around his blazer, turning it into a dark robe that covered the top of his head, with a purple-colored trim running along the edge.
At the same time, just outside the building, a particular hooded man, in a peaked hooded robe, started to walk up to the front entrance.
By his side, there were two more.
The guild members outside of the Orian Guild had noticed the three walking up to them. “Stop! State your reason for being on the premises of the Orian Guild’s ground!”
Right underneath their feet, two men had risen from a dark shadow below. They placed their hands on the back of the two Orian Guild members, and adark magic spewed out. Slowly, it started to almost melt a hole in their chests, until the life had faded from their eyes, and they fell to the ground.
Harvey continued to walk, and as he reached the front, two more of the hooded men had
joined Harvey.
“It’s time for the world to find out who we are.”

Chapter 1090: Magic Swordsman
Inside the Orian Guild, the presentation was going as normal. There were those placed on the first ground floor looking at things going on, enjoying their peaceful day.
For them, this was a rest day. It wasn’t as if their presence was needed, but they were more so there just to make sure things went smoothly with the event.
On the second floor, there were those that were just waiting peacefully, even yawning as it was going on a little longer than they expected.
“I wonder when this will end?” One of the Orian Guild members said.
“Fear the Unseen,” a voice whispered in the right side of his ear.
The Guild member quickly turned his head, but a dark palm filled with magic already latched right onto his face, destroying every part of it.
“For we are always near,” the Dark Guild member said as he pulled his hand away, looking at the dead mage that was now on the floor.
“ARGHHHH!” screams were heard coming from the other side, and immediately, Azbeth along with the rest of the crowd looked up.
They could see on the second floor, a large number of people dressed in dark robes had entered the scene and were fighting head-on, taking out most of the Orian Guild members by surprise and in a single blow.
One of the men was standing on the second floor, holding onto his arm. He had been hit just by the side but managed to avoid a deathly blow.
“Fireball!” The man shouted, shooting out the attack.
At the same time, the man in a robe waved both hands in the air.
“Dark Void!” Dark magic swirled, and as it hit the fireball, it was breaking it apart into nothing but particles, and right after he was done, he placed his hand forward.
“Dark Pulse!” A beam of energy shot out and broke right through the barrier of the mage, hitting the man in the chest. He slowly walked backward as his back hit the guard rail.
“What type of magic… breaks through a barrier that easily?” were the last man’s words as his body toppled over, and he fell crashing onto the first floor.
“What’s going on!” The parents and students were startled as they quickly stood up in their seats and started to huddle together.
“Is it some type of attack? We have to call the police quickly!”
“Right, they’re attacking the guild members one after the other.”
“But who could do such a thing, and aren’t the Orian Guild meant to be one of the strongest?”
Azbeth was watching the situation as he saw the doors blast open, and immediately, large amounts of mages in hoods had burst inside.
The Orian Guild were quick to act as well, as they fired back at those attacking them.
“Give support to the mages on the ground; the ones on the second floor are done for!” Azbeth ordered, his hand swinging out.
“Magic swordsmen, you stay with me; we will move as a unit!” Azbeth ordered.
Azbeth moved forward, pushing from his feet, using his Wind magic to shoot him from the stage and onto the ground. He swung his sword of lightning down and struck the dark pulse about to hit one of his men.
With his other hand out, he fired fireball after fireball towards the men in robes. They had huddled up and started to form their Dark magic together, creating a large barrier of sorts. “This is… I didn’t believe it, but seeing it up close like this. This is Dark magic?” Azbeth realized. “How can there be so many users who have learned forbidden magic, and they have even gathered together?”
The combined Dark magic shield faded down, and then they cast their spells back at Azbeth. His men by his side swiftly moved in front with their swords lit up, hitting the attack, while Azbeth thrust his sword forward.
“Quick Strike!” The lightning zapped out of the tip of his sword and had impaled right through one of the Dark Mages. It connected to two close to him, and immediately three of them fell to the floor.
“This is not good; we are going to have to help out as quickly as possible,” Azbeth thought. “The mages, they were all attacked by surprise and have no idea how to deal with Dark Magic!”
The general public were in a panic as they were witnessing a large amount of mages die before their eyes, and the tactics that were deployed had made them sick to their stomach.
A few of the mages were firing Dark magic down the hallways, where the other mages that were in the rest of the building were meant to enter from.
In the first place, there were far too few, and it was because they almost all had already been eliminated beforehand.
When some mages made it close, there were other Dark Mages waiting on the side of the door, ready to trap and attack them from the other side.
Immediately, some started to use casting magic to display what was happening to the outside world. They had taken out their magical devices to continue filming and had attempted to call the police, but who knew how long it would take until they got there.
Azbeth and his two sword mages by his side were the only ones that seemingly were making a difference, as they continued to slash through Dark Mages bit by bit, with support from the stage until…
The mages on stage felt something stab them right from behind. When they looked down, it looked almost like a dark tentacle had exited out from their stomachs as it pulled back. All of them fell to the floor.
“Azbeth!” a voice shouted out.
Azbeth stopped with his two warriors and turned to the stage.
“You should look around; the situation, it’s clearly done and over with!” The man on the stage was none other than Harvey, who had a large, physical dark shadow hovering over his
back.
It looked like a creature out of a nightmare was behind him on that stage, but what was even worse was the fact that when Azbeth looked around, only he and the two by his side were now
alive.
“Why do this? Who are you guys!” Azbeth shouted.
Harvey was inwardly smiling and stared at the people who were filming him, who were
broadcasting his every word.
“I thought you would never ask; we are the Dark Guild!” Harvey claimed.
Wind, fire, and lightning were three elements that Azbeth was good at, and for him, it was the perfect combination to go with his magic swordsmanship.

Chapter 1091: A Bigger Performance
The words “Dark Guild” were spoken loudly from Harvey’s mouth, and it was heard by all those in the crowd, including those who had been recording the inside situation, playing it to those outside.
The world was finding out that the Dark Guild existed.
On the streets, in coffee shops, in their offices and meetings, the breaking news was starting to be reported to the whole world about what was taking place.
“Hey, did you hear? The Orian Guild, it looks like they were attacked.”
“Yeah, I saw the videos as well, and can you believe it? It seems they’re using Dark Magic.”
“A whole guild using Dark Magic? How can that even exist in today’s age? Aren’t all Dark Mages executed? So how could there be an entire guild?”
“They must be sickos. No wonder they’re attacking the Orian Guild.”
“Not just that, but the situation, it appears as if they have hostages as well.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less from those who are called the Dark Guild, but where are the police? If we know about it now, shouldn’t they know about it as well?”
Harvey, standing on the stage, started to laugh as he directly looked at those on the ground below and the situation. His first task as the Dark Guild was a complete success, and he could tell based on the situation in the room.
‘It will be a while before the police get here, as a chief of one of the districts, I know exactly how the force works. Do you think I selected random members to be part of this life-changing guild?’
‘Set up all over the city are members of the Guild making false reports, causing small disturbances, even within the forces themselves, causing mayhem.’
‘The police are in a panic trying to sort out what is happening, so they don’t have time to deal with a situation like this. Well, at least for a little while. I’m sure they will soon make it their priority, but it will have slowed them down enough.’
Azbeth, on the ground, had stopped attacking. He looked around and could see that none of the Orian Guild members were reacting anymore.
Hundreds of those in robes were spread out across the room, in a circle with their hands pointed towards the center, pointed toward the civilians and students who were present.
Seeing how no more members of the Orian Guild were coming out made it clear to Azbeth that the whole guild was done for. Perhaps every single member had been eliminated, at least those who were inside.
“What are you doing!” Azbeth shouted from the back as he tightened his grip around his sword. “Using Dark Magic to attack our guild and in such a manner, you will grab the attention of the whole world.”
“Hahah, are you a fool!” Harvey replied back. “That was exactly my idea from the beginning. For too long have we been suppressed, been lurking in the shadows!”
“For we are given a sin that we can’t get rid of. This day was eventually to come!”
From the side, a member moved to the stage and then went toward Harvey, right by his ear.
“We have secured all crystals and items. At the moment, we are moving them off-site,” the member whispered.
“That’s good. We can’t lose sight of the main goal, and the reason why we were here in the first place. Otherwise, the Dark Spirit would be quite upset,” Harvey answered and waved him off.
With that done, the mission was accomplished. People now would know the name of the Dark Guild, and the items were secured, but it wasn’t enough.
‘For an opening ceremony, it needs to be a big bang. People need to be talking about this for ages, and they must truly know we have returned… you are watching, right, Dark Magus, wherever you are. I will set the stage!’
Azbeth had been quiet since all the members had fallen, and he hadn’t continued his fight. If they didn’t anger them further, he was hoping he and the others could get out of the current situation.
“You, Azbeth, fight me right here on this stage!” Harvey declared, his finger pointing straight at him.
“Fight… you want to fight me on my own?” Azbeth asked. “But for what purpose? What does this solve? What is it that you want?”
Was this man someone they had angered in the past? Were some of the members rejects from the guild? There were too many thoughts going through Azbeth’s mind.
Perhaps it was even some of the lower guilds they had shunned or bullied to the point where they could no longer grow.
“Weren’t you doing a display of your guild’s strength? To show how special you are to all these people, to recruit members for the future?” Harvey asked.
“Let’s just say that I’m doing the same thing. This is your chance to show everyone here, and out there, whether the skills of your guild are truly great… and if you don’t want to do that, then everyone here will just kill you.”
Believing he had no choice, Azbeth decided to head up to the stage.
‘I don’t know how strong this individual is. Maybe I might even be able to best him and scare the others off, and if I can’t, then at least I can buy some time until the others come.’
When the people saw Azbeth reaching the stage, they were hoping for some type of miracle, for him to best his opponent. With the others, maybe he could take them all out after the leader had been defeated from this group.
“You might not be afraid of me, but you should be afraid. Using Dark Magic, attracting too much attention. With something as big as this, the Grand Magus might get involved!” Azbeth said as he readied his sword.
“That is perfect!” Harvey replied, lifting both of his arms, and the strange darkness lingered from his back, growing twice his size, hovering behind him.

Chapter 1092: The Answer To Time Magic
Moving from the living room of the manor, Aurora decided to head upstairs, away from the location of the guest and her brother, but she was careful with her choice of room, as she had ventured to the room just above.
‘My brother and my future husband can’t keep a conversation out of my ears,’ Aurora thought to herself as she tensed both of her arms. ‘I need to find out what they’re talking about. It has to do with their business or magic.’
‘And then maybe I can give the answer to my dear Jake, and he’ll thank me by rewarding me with whatever I want. Or maybe it’s something secret that only I can get!’
‘And the two of us will have to work side by side to retrieve such a drastic item. Then, after going through thick and thin together, we’ll realize how perfect we are for each other.’
Aurora was giggling to herself as she looked for a piece of chalk in her room.
“MEOW!”
When Aurora had finally found her piece of chalk, to her surprise, she had an unexpected guest who was just sitting there at the window sill.
“A cat… but we don’t have a cat?” Aurora said. “Are you a stray that’s made it all the way to the manor?”
Aurora quickly waved her hand in front of her face. “No, that can’t be. It’s far too fat to be a stray.”
The next moment, before she realized it, the cat had jumped straight at her face, landing on it. She was pushed onto the floor, nearly crashing the back of her head to the ground.
Before she knew it, the cat was off her face and was walking on the edge of the bed frame. “Damn it, did you understand what I said? It’s because of your fatness that I fell over. If you understand, go on a diet!” Aurora shook her head as she realized she had more important matters at hand.
She could be missing crucial information right now.
With the piece of chalk in her hand, she started to draw the magic circle on the floor itself. ‘With this, I’ll be able to listen in on everything that’s being said from below. It will be as if I was in the room with them, and then my plan will work out!’ Aurora smiled at herself. ‘This is plan A for now. Plan B would be to become friends with Kelly…but that seems impossible.’ Aurora focused and started to draw. She was completing the circle, but in the middle of it, she felt wind pass by her hair, and at the same time, part of the circle had been smudged and was completely broken.
Looking behind her, she could immediately see who was the culprit, as the fat black cat had a whitened paw.
“You! What do you think you’re doing? I’m going to kill you!” Aurora said as she lifted her index finger, and a small flame ignited.
Downstairs in the other room, Raze had just asked a simple question to a man he believed had good current knowledge of the world of Alterian.
At times when a person was stuck on something, it was good to bounce ideas off someone. Even if those ideas would be useless 90 percent of the time, it might cause a spark in Raze’s mind.
However, the answer that he had received from Alen, it blew his mind, as it wasn’t anything he was expecting.
“The way to beat Time magic is with Dark magic?” Raze asked. “But what you said… what’s even your theory on this? In the first place, Dark magic is not even a magic that is allowed to be used in Alterian.
“So how would you even know it would be effective against Time magic?”
Seeing Raze react like this had brought quite the smile to Alen’s face.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen you so startled. I know your type; I’ve dealt with it before. You base everything on the knowledge and evidence around you. Sometimes it limits your view.”
“You’re right, I don’t really know about Dark magic or its capabilities, but wasn’t there a figure in the past who was well known to have Time magic, one that we all studied as kids?” Raze had to rack his head a bit, especially since he didn’t have the privilege to go to schooling like those above ground. Most of his childhood was spent below.
He had to pick up the slack himself and did research on things that interested him. So the basics of some things that occurred at school were missed out on for him.
“The past emperor. Wasn’t it claimed that he also had the ability to use Time magic?”
Raze’s eyes lit up. The last known emperor in Alterian, who had managed to achieve the unification of all of the countries. One of the small facts mentioned was that he had powers of Time magic.
However, they were nowhere near as powerful as what Raze had witnessed. This was one of the reasons i never came to his mind, as well as the fact that it was so long ago.
“There have been more than just the emperor who has had a special affinity with Time magic, so what makes you say that Dark magic is able to overcome this? It still makes no sense,” Raze asked.
“I’m just answering your question with the most likely answer,” Alen said. “I have no proof, but with everything you have had me look into things, I have had to always look at things from another angle these days.”
“You see, the emperor knew Time magic and was known to be one of the most powerful Light Mages in existence, which was how he could accomplish everything he had done.”
“Yet, do you remember what he had done to the world before he had left it? He had outlawed Dark Mages. Now, people will say this is because of the way one needs to increase one’s affinity with Dark Magic.”
“Now that he planned for there to no longer be war, the Dark Mages and their strength weren’t needed. However, what if we did start to look at things differently?”
“What if the strongest Light Mage, who was superior against Dark magic, actually feared it for another reason? It would make sense to get rid of what was really his only weakness… which is why I said my answer.”
“It’s not based on fact or good reasoning; it’s based on simply looking at things from another angle completely.”
Raze thought about it for a while. Was it really the answer? The magic that he already had, was it the answer in besting Heino? And just who was Heino… he couldn’t be the last emperor
of Alterian? Could he?

Chapter 1094: I Caused This
The thoughts of Alen truly made Raze think of the possibilities of what was happening. For how long had mages been trying to head over to Pagna? Was it even on purpose, or just due to magic disrupting parts of the world that portals had been opening between the two?
The matters with the Dark Faction had certainly been going on for a long time, so maybe Otherworlders had also been an existence that had happened for a long time as well.
So maybe, just maybe, the emperor of the past didn’t perish, and he had moved over. How long had it been? If he had managed to find out how to increase his affinity with time magic, then certainly they would have the same power as Heino.
And if one could control time magic, then maybe they were also able to control the time within oneself and live the life of an immortal.
‘But if Heino is the great emperor of the past, wouldn’t he want to use the Golden Globe on himself? From what we do know, Alter is working with the Grand Magus in some way. Is it just neutral benefit, or is there a real reason for the two of them to work together?’ Raze thought.
At the end of it, Raze realized that the truth of the thing didn’t matter to him too much. The emperor wasn’t his target; Heino wasn’t his target. It was just someone who was in his way of getting to the goal he needed to.
The real issue at hand was how to deal with time magic.
“If Dark magic is the answer, then is there a reason why you might think that, things that you would know about Dark Magic?” Raze asked.
“You really want to go ahead with this theory of yours?” Alen asked. “You know, if regular people were heard speaking of Dark Magic in such a way, they would be taken in by the police. It’s only because of who I am and where we are that we are even discussing matters so openly.
“And besides, it’s not as if you going ahead and learning Dark Magic is an option for you, if that is what you were planning to do.”
Raze knew Alen was right, and he had already helped him greatly. There was no reason for him to delve further into this, and if anything, if Raze knew what occurred in the past, if people got too involved, then there was a good chance that this might be the last time that he saw Alen again.
“Dark magic has the properties to destroy every magic there is, including Light Magic. Its main property is that it is like a black hole absorbing everything into it. This, in my mind, would include time magic.
“The issue at hand is, if time froze all around you, and you were unable to cast your dark magic, how would it destroy the property in the first place? So, it just goes to which magic is cast fast in that situation, right? Although one would have to have a significant amount of Dark Magic to be able to do such a thing.
“I doubt even if a person learned dark magic, it would be possible; they would also have to have a dark core of sorts. All of this is pointless talk anyway.”
In the middle of talking, that was when Alen had suddenly stopped, as he stared ahead at the screen in the room. The news channel that was left on by Aurora. It was on mute so as not to disturb their conversation, so the two hadn’t been paying attention to it.
However, Alen’s eyes widened, and he took his hands out of his pocket as he looked at the situation.
‘What has caught his attention that’s on the screen?’ Raze thought.
Turning his head, it was then Raze’s heart that almost skipped a beat as he was witnessing what was happening.
Footage of a situation at a particular guild was being broadcast from inside. Scrolling across the bottom were reports stating that mages were attacking the Guild, and the attackers were claiming to be part of the Dark Guild.
It showed the members coming in and using dark magic, defeating and killing the Orian Guild members, and now it was showing the fight that was taking place between the guild master Azbeth and a man in a Dark Robe using his dark powers.
The images and videos were clear, as the footage was taken from the hostages that were currently there at the scene.
“What is going on? Dark mages, Dark Magic, and a Dark guild! What is happening? Why hasn’t anyone gone to help yet?” Alen asked.
Immediately, Alen went to grab his long red blazer from the back of the couch and placed it on his shoulders.
“I’m sorry, Jake,” Alen said. “It looks like our meeting will have to be cut short for today. Something big seems to be happening, and the Orian Guild are unable to deal with it. Knowing what is happening, I can’t just stand around and let the situation unfold the way it is.
“I don’t know if we will meet again, but if we do, maybe we can have a more normal conversation next time.”
With that, Alen was already rushing towards his front door, barging it open and heading directly to the scene.
Raze looked at the screen once again, and seeing the entire situation. ‘That’s Harvey, I can tell straight away. My guess is he’s doing this because of my order. To obtain items and let the world know of the Dark Guild.’
‘This might be too small of a matter for the Grand Magus to deal with, but with the righteous Alen finding out about this, he can’t but help himself and head to the scene. I don’t think Harvey can deal with it if Alen’s there.’
‘I guess I have no choice. It’s because of me this situation is what it is. I will have to join the situation,’ Raze thought.
