Dark Magus Returns #Chapter 1161: The Last Memeber Of The Clan – Read Dark Magus Returns Chapter 1161: The Last Memeber Of The Clan Online – All Page – Novel Bin

The Deleter known as Shay, a Pagna warrior who belonged to the Noctis Clan, was battling against the Dark Magus. She had heard the countless tales about this man, and about the skills he had used.

From the description alone, she knew that the techniques that were being used were the Dark Edge sword arts. These were techniques that only the Noctis Clan members should know. So the question had popped into her mind at the time.

Why was there someone that knew about the techniques? After all this time, what were they doing? Were they someone like her? Someone who had been hiding this entire time, away from the troubles and now coming back they were ready to strike.

She had somewhat believed that might have been the case, especially after hearing how they had taken over the Dark Faction. She knew that was the first of her goals in her mind, but when seeing Raze, she knew instantly, that the Dark Magus, wasn’t anyone belonging to the clan, no one that she knew.

During the fight, she had been confident in her techniques, she had used the Dark Edge sword arts and they were equal in power against her opponent. With her added Dark Qi affinity, it was absorbing in part of the strike of her opponent.

Although her opponent was skilled and could use the techniques well, they were only the first set of techniques she had seen him use. There was one thing about the Dark Edge sword arts, and that was that the techniques became more difficult the later in the sword formations.

The formations didn’t particularly get stronger, each of the formations were more of a particular use case, however one had to take what they learned from the last formation and continue to learn new things as they moved up the formations.

Even if a person could perform them, it might be subpar compared to someone who could truly perform them. When looking at the Dark Magus, Shay thought a few things, since he was someone who had just happened to come across the book, he wouldn’t have had time to master all of the formations.

Then when it came to a full-scale battle, she would end up being the winner. That was until she saw the Dark Magus doing something. He lifted up the sword, and was performing the second formation.

It was the same as before as the Qi covered the blade, until right after a mass amount of power had encased the sword, and were intertwining with the weapon. The force almost felt twice as strong, and the power it didn’t feel like demonic Qi.

It didn’t feel like dark Qi, but Shay had witnessed this one before.

‘The power that’s being used right now…it’s almost like I’m looking at the guild leader himself. How is that possible, how is he able to perform the attacks the same way as him!’

Frustration, or to look at what was happening in awe, Shay didn’t really know what to do, and she found herself thinking about how she had gotten to this point.

In the Dark Faction, the Noctis Clan had already been in chaos after the clan head had gone missing. It wasn’t just the clan head though, it was the leader of the faction itself, the man who had united almost everyone under a particular banner.

There were answers and questions being brought up to the group, the sad part of it all, was that no one in the Noctis Clan could give them a clear answer, because none of them knew why the clan head had disappeared.

Shay had hope though, that he would return. There had been times where the clan head had gone missing for a while, in the middle of his troubles. While others disagreed. They felt like it was different this time.

There were talks about how the clan head was on edge and worried about something, and then, it started to happen, the purge of the Noctis clan members.

Powerful warriors were getting killed one by one, and no one knew who was responsible for it. Or at least that’s what the general public thought. Within the Noctis Clan it had become quite clear.

There was a change happening. The strongest clans and a particular man at the helm was forcing this change. The Dark faction wanted a new leader, and they couldn’t allow for the old to still exist.

Shay watched as the Noctis clan had fallen. Each of their meetings there would be one person less, until she was the only person to arrive at the meetings. It wasn’t because they had all perished it was because the last of the Noctis Clan members had given up in fear.

The clan had been disbanded informally and they had decided to live the rest of their lives peacefully, but it wasn’t the case.

Shay had still heard of what had happened to her fellow members, and even she had been targeted. She had managed to survive a few attacks but they didn’t stop, and they were getting worse and worse.

Even in hiding she had to live in fear, and it wasn’t a life she wanted to live. The respectful clan that had brought the Dark Faction together, now all of its members were being hunted by the very clan they had helped.

She swore to herself that if she ever could, she would get revenge on the entire of the Dark Faction clan. When they had reached its peak, at the very top just like the Noctis clan was, she would bring it all crumbling down.

In her journey to safe passage, she had eventually heard of a group named Alter who could help with tricky situations and help with any request. They weren’t part of any faction, so she had decided to reach out.

From there, this was how she had ended up joining Alter, and a particular man named Heino had caught eye of her talent, and could feel her rage wishing to put it to good use, she had become a Deleter.

Completing task after task, which had brought her, right here in front of the Dark Magus.

“I will not, perish, the eighth formation!” Shay moved her sword till it was placed in front of her. “The Eighth Formation, Eternal Night Formation!”

Since Raze had studied the Dark Edge sword arts as well as the magic Dark Edge sword arts, he knew all of the formations well, and he knew the last one was the hardest to achieve, the Eighth formation, the eternal night formation.

When Raze had read the description of the technique and what it could do, it sounded more like a high cast level spell. Yet that couldn’t be the case, because at the end of the day all of the formations could be produced with Qi alone.

This was the issue that Raze was running into. To figure out how to use the magic version of each of the techniques, he also needed to know how to use the regular Qi version and the last two formations, the seventh and eighth, were something he was unable to get his head around.

‘There was one more though, there was one more that also knew all of the formations. I lost to that man, but I won’t lose this time!’ Raze swung his sword out using the second formation with his Dark magic, it had covered the sky in darkness.

Meanwhile, Shay had started to perform the eighth formation. She held the sword in front of her with both hands on the handle, and inputted her dark Qi.

Just like when the second formation was used, the Qi started to wrap itself around the sword, but it wasn’t just the bladed part, this time it was the whole thing.

The guard, the handle, there was no inch of the weapon that was left uncovered. The attack from Raze’ sword was going through the air, when something strange was starting to occur.

The light around the area of the sword, it was being absorbed in. The area around them where they were fighting, it was starting to get dark, and it almost looked as if the colors in the sky were disappearing. The only strong color that could be seen was the darkness of the sword.

“This place is now my domain.” Shay moved her hand to the side, in the corner, and a large ball of darkness Qi had appeared.

The attack from Raze started to move, as it all ventured into the Qi, as if it was some type of black hole it had been absorbed into the space, the attack had completely disappeared as if it was never there in the first place.

‘I never got to see the proper use of this technique from Belil. This is the first time I’m seeing it so clearly in person, and yet I don’t understand it,’ Raze thought. ‘What she had just done was just placed her Qi in another area, and my attack was absorbed. Is that because of the special trait of her dark Qi, or the formation itself.’

The sword formations were truly frightening. It was hard to call them formations or sword strikes since they were able to do unworldly things like this.

“I said this already, but you’re in my domain!” Shay held out her hand, and then gestured as if she was pulling Raze towards her.

Before he knew it, he had been lifted into the air by a strange force. It almost felt like he was being dragged by wind magic or some form of telekinesis.

As Raze was going through the air, he could see that she was getting ready for another attack.

It didn’t quite look like Qi was building up behind the sword, but instead the darkness that had been sucked out of the area.

It looked like the void pulse formation.

She shoved her sword forward and a large direct strike went straight to Raze.

Forcefully to move himself to the side, he used his wind magic and pushed him away as the attack went through the air.

“You can’t escape!” Shay dragged her hand again and Raze could feel himself forcefully pushed until he had hit the ground.

His feet kept him from standing along with the rest of his strong powers.

Shay’s sword changed appearance slightly again, appearing as if it had a small wing appear on the weapon itself.

Raze recognized this as well, it was the Dusk wing formation. He was truly fighting against a member of the Noctis clan, and one that looked to be talented.

She lifted herself in the air and swung her sword out. Several strikes all went in Raze’s direction.

Seeing this Raze tried to move, but he noticed that Shay had her hand held out. Once again the strange telekinesis like power felt as if it had a hold on him keeping him in one place.

‘All of this, is all of this power from the eternal Night formation? Is it a combination of things…and I still haven’t quite figured out what that helmet does either.’

The attacks were relentless as it crashed in the area where Raze was. Several of them to the point where nothing but dust could be seen.

In the end, Shay had let up with her attack.

“That was easier than I thought, maybe I didn’t have to go as far as to use the eternal night formation.”

When the dust did finally settle though, she could see that the Dark Magus was just standing in the same place completely fine.

The only difference was, that he had strange lighting sparking from his legs. The lighting was mostly concentrated underneath his feet, but they would sparkle once in a while, running up the side of his leg.

“I see now, I heard some of the rumors, and it seems it’s true, you can use magic. Just like those in Alter….ah I see now I was such a fool, why didn’t I realize it sooner. The clan head did always keep things from us, but that’s why you can perform the techniques more proper than me, because he was a mage.” The realization for Shay, it was somewhat eye-opening but she knew she was still in the fight.

“I think I’ve seen enough.” Raze said. “Although you are right I can’t perform the last two of the Dark Edge sword arts, I can perform the others very well.”

Since the Eternal Night formation skill had been used by Shay, it might have looked like Raze was on the back foot, at least to the Deleter.

He was no longer using his skills to be attacked, and he was playing to Shay’s tune all the way. She was confident she could take him out while using the top skills.

Little did she know, that Raze was figuring it all out, how the Eternal formation truly worked.

He had a bigger inkling than most, mainly because he knew the description of the skill, and how to activate it.

‘When the technique is used, the Qi from the person is inputted into the sword. Then out from the sword, it’s spread out in a particular area.

‘The technique allows one to completely control the darkness of the Qi around them. That’s how she is able to move me with her powers, and able to concentrate her powers in a particular way.

‘The last technique is more so a zone, that supports all of the other techniques. However, there seems to be some difference compared to what I thought would happen.

‘I can only put this down, to her knowing how to use the trait of her dark Qi. It’s absorbing the energy bringing it in. It’s absorbing attacks and has a larger pull effect.

‘What’s bad is, any technique I use, any Qi that I try to disperse it works for a short time before it’s almost engulfed by the space.’

Thinking about all of this, Raze had two interesting thoughts in his mind. If he used this technique with his Demonic Qi, that truly had the effect of absorbing direct Qi energy, what would take place?

Would it slowly take the Qi of anyone in the area and add it to his own, and what would be the effects of adding his Dark magic to it?

He was ecstatic to figure out the true power of the technique, and he was sure it would help him out in the future, but in the middle of the fight was not the right time.

Although the Eternal Night formation seemed to absorb Qi in particular places when used, it didn’t stop him from using Qi.

So he could still use particular techniques, just using Qi when he needs to quickly retreat or bring it close to his body.

With the way Raze used Qi in the first place, this was fine for him, and his fine control of magic not much would go to waste.

He quickly used his Qi and lightning, along with the special footwork of the Dark clan, and avoided all of the strikes that were to come his way, and now looking at Shay he was ready.

He had learned as much as he wanted to in this battle, for him to figure out how to use the rest of the Dark Edge sword arts.

“I guess there are some things that you haven’t seen!” Raze declared, as his Dark magic started to gather, and the Qi condensed what looked like a small wing on the sword.

Shay recognized this, it was the Dusk wing formation, but then she saw something else. Forming out of Raze’s back, the dark magic had turned into what was like a large wing that was made of flames, only black in color.

Seeing this, Shay immediately placed her hand out, and using her powers she tried to extinguish it. She was moving it about, but it appeared to do nothing.

“What is this, why can’t I control it even though it’s in my domain. In my space! This can’t be, no one has ever been able to do something like this before!” Shay shouted.

“Right, I guess you never fought against the Noctis clan leader before,” Raze said. “Although your Qi still seems to direct my magic, it can’t destroy it. I actually distinguished the magic myself earlier. This is dark magic, that destroys everything that it touches.”

Raze then with his sword sliced through the air. Lines of dark magic came out as he used his Dusk wing formations.

They cut through the air, and had reached Shay. She lifted her sword swinging at the magic, and managed to cut through, but each time the attack hit, she was pushed back, each time, however it didn’t seem to phase her either.

As she decided to charge ahead, and gathered energy at the back of her blade again. She shoved it forward shooting almost a beam of Qi out.

The Void pulse formation didn’t usually do this type of thing, all of the Qi was meant to be focused in one point, but instead it was able to be shot out as a beam most likely because of the Eternal Night formation.

Immediately though, Raze’s entire legs electrified with lightning, and he zapped away, and was able to avoid the attack with ease.

The large wing then pushed over, creating a stream of Dark magic in his path. The dark magic when it went through the Eternal night Formation, it was getting rid of the space. Colour was returning to the area.

But Raze wasn’t even focused on that, as he had appeared right by Shay’s side.

He threw his blade constantly hitting against Shay, who was able to block each of the attacks.

Raze quickly moved and then cut the back of her leg, but Shay had immediately turned around and went to attack Raze throwing a strike right through the air.

Raze lifted his sword blocking the attack but was quite surprised, that she was able to attack so fast.

At close range Raze continued to throw his sword, Shay was able to block a few until Raze had made a strike hitting her arm, it was a relatively deep cut, but quickly she had thrusted the sword forward again trying to hit Raze, but it had completely missed him, as he moved to the side.

“Now I see, that Helmet of yours, an artifact from Alter. Now I know exactly what it does, and I’m going to take that helmet for myself!” Raze declared.

Raze thrusted his sword forward, dark magic encircling it, with him using the Dusk Wing formation he was far faster making his strikes even stronger.

The last time Raze had fought against a powerful opponent he had used all of the Dark Edge arts that he knew and had combined them with his magic.

He had done relatively well with his fighting, but his opponent was a Divine warrior, and one with Divine strength.

So if he thought back to his fight before that, then it would have been against the Deleter prior.

At the time, Raze had fared well against the Deleter before leaving it to Zon. It wasn’t an easy fight, so he wondered how did he fare up against the Deleters now.

The thing was, there was a large difference between him before and him now, his Qi was extremely powerful.

When using the Dark edge sword arts it even activated the special trait of Demonic Qi, and his magic had increased in power as well.

Stabbing right in the center, Shay had blocked the attack and skidded across the floor.

She started to swing her blade widely but Raze was already behind her, and delivered a large strike cutting across her back.

She spun from the side and Raze was able to block the attack. Then with her hand she dragged moving Raze’s arm to the side.

“Void pulse!” Shay shouted out as she thrusted the sword at his head.

Moving to the side, Raze had managed to avoid the strike. Then he could see something else as well, the Deleter’s sword it was starting to appear translucent in colour.

‘This is the Phantom Edge formation.’

The blade had a ghost like appearance, and when attacking, it appeared as if the attack was coming from various angles all delivered by the Qi.

This wasn’t something Raze could just block, or at least naturally it wouldn’t be.

He stepped back moving away, and as he moved away he swung his blade, hitting Shay’s body each time.

Shay was able to block the attacks throwing them out, but she could never catch up to Raze.

“So what you know what my Helmet does, you are a fake member of the Noctis clan, and a fake can never beat the real thing!” Shay screamed.

As she moved her sword in a circle like shape, and several weapons appeared cutting through all of Raze’s attacks.

Right after, she then, was ready to perform the Void pulse formation again, the sword was still translucent meaning the formation of the Phantom edge was still working.

‘Is she combining two of the Dark Edge sword arts together, is that even possible?’

Soon, surrounding in the air where Shay was, there was a build up of Qi, around six of them in a circle right by Shay’s sword, and all of them were pointed ready to jump like a javelin at Raze.

‘Technically since the Eternal Night formation is still working she’s using three of the dark edge sword arts all together,’ Raze thought. ‘She’s either able to do this because of the Eternal night formation supporting her. Or it has to be the special artifact on her head.’

Through fighting, Raze had figured out what exactly the helmet could do. Although if he described its effects to many, they might not think its such an impressive item, yet here it was proving very useful.

If Shay didn’t have the item she would have lost the fight long ago.

The helmet that Shay had, gave her the effect of having an undying will. It made it so she didn’t feel pain.

At least this was one of the effects of the helmet. When attacking, if struck by a powerful blow there was no need for recovery. She could push forward and attack.

On top of that, when Raze had delivered a few wounds here and there, she hadn’t flinched in her attacks, allowing her to attack back immediately.

Fighting at the high level sometimes required very minimal reaction times, and at times one expected that their attack would hit before the other.

It might not end the fight between the two, but could deal a significant blow. In the case of someone wearing the helmet, they would sacrifice getting hit and deliver an even bigger hit back.

What Raze also noticed, somewhat similar to the adrenaline that would run through someone’s body. Despite the pain or the severity of the wound, the body would do whatever it could to work just as normal.

Even though Raze had injured the Deleter quite a bit, she was still fighting just as well as before, and this is where Raze figured out there was a second effect of the helmet, or most likely there was one.

The undying will not only allowed one to not feel pain, but it also meant they wouldn’t feel tired either. They could attack every strike with their full force.

And in terms of using techniques that would take large amounts of Qi, or tire one out, they would be able to use them one after the other, just like Shay was doing now.

However, it was quite clear that it didn’t give one unlimited Qi, just didn’t tire them out. So they wouldn’t feel the large burden of using one technique after the other.

It was the most likely reason why Shay was able to also combine two of the attacks.

“Void Pulse strike!” Shay called out.

Several beams of energy came out straight towards Ray, the range of the attack was large to the point, where he couldn’t really block the strike.

So instead, he had decided to do something else instead.

“The third formation, Nightmare Veil formation!”

Swinging his sword, out from his dark Magic, Raze had made bestial figures, and they jumped at the attacks.

As both of them collided it exploded in the area. The attacks were stopped but the explosion of dark magic from the beast, also had destroyed much of the Eternal night formation.

Colour was returning to the battlefield were they were, and it appeared that Shay had ran out of cards to use.

‘I didn’t even have to use my new robe to fight,’ Raze thought to himself. Wondering if they had just heavily underestimated their group’s power, or he had just grown that much more powerful.

For Raze it was clear the battle was over, he had destroyed the one thing that had made Shay powerful, the Eternal night formation.

Even with the helmet, he was sure of it, she didn’t have the Qi to perform the technique again.

While Raze was still able to use powerful Qi and magic in this fight. Yet when Raze was looking at her, it didn’t feel like he was going up against Alter.

When going against her, it didn’t feel like she was the enemy, like many of those that he fought before. Whether that was because she used the same techniques or she was actually a Pagna warrior he didn’t know.

So charging forward, Raze went to strike. He didn’t swing at full strength, nor did he swing at full speed, his Dusk wing formation had already come to an end.

Shay still had fight in her so she blocked all of the attacks as both of their swords hit and clashed against each other.

“Why are you still fighting, why do you pick up your sword!” Raze asked. “You fight for Alter, an organisation that is against everything your clan head went against. Do you not care about that?”

Shay continued to defend, until she pushed her sword up against Raze and there was a struggle of power but the struggle only came from one end.

“Why do I fight, why do I fight, I’ve had that answer for a long time!” Shay replied back. “To get revenge on the Dark Faction.”

Hearing those words, and the determination behind them, now Raze might have understood why he didn’t see them so much as an enemy.

The reason she was fighting, it was the same as his.

“The Dark Faction, is what your clan head had created, and you want to destroy all of that?” Raze questioned.

“You idiot!” Shay said as she struck hard and fast but Raze still was able to deflect each of the hits. Now using techniques of the Moon Shield clan from the Dark Faction, as he scraped and deflected her attacks.

“Do you have any idea what they did, or what that would feel like. Living every day in fear, that your life could be taken at any moment.

“Watching the people that you grew up with, get cut down one by one, to never be able to speak to them again. What the Dark Faction has done, it’s unforgivable.”

Naturally, Raze had smirked at Shay’s words. She had no idea who she was talking to. Understand, maybe the person who understood that the most and more was right in front of her.

Which was why he couldn’t blame her for the actions she took.

“You have the right to do this, and you have the right to join Alter to give you the power to do this as well,” Raze stated. “But you should make sure you understand what you’re doing and not harming the wrong people in the process.

“If it’s necessary for your goal then so be it, but in your reckless rampage you might be creating multiple people who harbour the same anger just as you!”

“You think I’m going to listen to the words of a fake who’s stolen his way to the top!” Shay shouted as she lifted the sword above her head.

She mustered her Qi and performed the second formation strike again.

Raze had done the same, but rather than swinging it down, he swung his sword to the side hitting hers.

His power overwhelmed hers and pushed her and his sword to the side, causing both of the Qi’s to crash into the ground.

It ripped off a deep layer of the ground and continued on for around five hundred meters before the power of the Qi had stopped.

“There’s two things you should learn, first to go against Alter, to protect what he cared about, that is why the Noctis clan head had created the Dark Faction. Yet you have joined the enemy,” Raze said. “The reason why the ripple effect started, the elimination of the Noctis Clan, is because of Alter in the first place.

“The fact that you haven’t looked into this yourself is a disappointment. You should harbour your anger, grow strength to take down the reasons for this to start with!”

When Raze struck back, he condensed his Qi and then exploded it out with his hit. When the two swords collided, Shay’s arm was flung back with the weapon.

Due to her helmet, she could bring it back as soon as possible ready for the next strike.

“As for the second reason, are you a fool. You can see that I am the one that leads the Dark Faction now. I am not the one responsible for the Noctis Clan’s death. I am not your target.

“Murkel has disappeared from this world. Yet you point your sword at me!”

Raze continued to strike hitting harder and harder. Each time it was taking Shay longer to strike back.

Raze had struck so hard with his sword, it pushed Shay back until her body bounced across the hard floor.

She had quickly gotten up needing next to no time to recover, and could see that Raze was right in front of her.

His sword was pointed right underneath her chin, and then moving his sword up, he had pushed the helmet until it had dislodged itself and was flung in the air.

It spun several times, and crashed on the floor to the side.

The instant the helmet had fallen from Shay’s head, she fell to her knees. The effect of the helmet was no longer there.

Her body was drained the pain rushed and she could no longer move no matter how she tried, but she found that tears were running down her face.

“But then…who am I meant to…who am I meant to point all of this anger at,” Shay claimed.

“Well, I can give you a suggestion,” Raze stated. “As I said, there are the people who caused the ripple effect. If you want join us, and fight against Alter.”

Not only was it clear that Raze had won the fight to himself, but Shay knew this as well.

Unlike the other Deleters, she never thought this day would come, nor did she feel like she had some type of arrogance of her being better than anyone else.

She was just doing everything she could for the sake of her goal. Losing didn’t come as a big shock to her, instead she was just drowning in her own sorrow about how she might not be able to continue her task.

These were the thoughts that were deep in her head. Which was why when the question was posed to her, she didn’t understand and she had to ask the question.

“Why?” Shay asked. “Why are you asking me to join you. When I just fought against you, and did everything in my power to try and kill you!”

Just speaking was quite painful for her, but it didn’t matter if this was her end then she wanted to speak.

“I told you everything already,” Raze stated. “We are not your enemy, you are not my enemy. You haven’t given me trouble, but with you on our side you can help.

“You can do what the Noctis Clan head would have wanted to do from the beginning. The elimination of Alter, to stop them from coming into the world of Pagna and destroying it.

“I don’t know how close you were to your clan head, or if you knew the truth about him. But he stated he loved Pagna, and just like me, and those from Alter he was from a different world, but he wanted to protect both worlds.

“I don’t have as just a goal as him, but it so happens that what I want will stop them. You can be the first step in all of this.

“With you on our side, you can tell me all the information that we need to get to Alter. Everything their planning, and what they do. As a Deleter I imagine that you’re quite high up the ladder?”

The Deleters were a separate group to the rest of Alter. In truth if Raze really wanted someone who knew the ins and outs of Alter, he needed to speak to Garlon.

But he did not know the fate of what had occurred with Garlon just yet.

However, there were some things being the rank that Shay was that she would know. The movements within the group.

The actions, the powers and the number of powerful items and artifacts they had, maybe even which ones they should look out for.

“I…I…” Shay was hesitating. In her mind when she looked at Raze, she only knew him as the leader of the Dark Faction.

The entire time, even when she had come into this fight, she was doing so imagining that she was going up against the head of the Dark Faction.

So to just switch sides, to join the Dark Faction who she believed was the enemy the entire time.

It was hard for her, despite what Raze was saying, she hadn’t been through the same journey as him.

Discovering things about the Noctis clan leader. Instead she had her own truth that she had been following for a long time, which had eventually led her to the position that she was in.

While waiting for the answer, Raze had already used his dark magic to place his weapons away.

It was the first time then that Raze could look at the battlefield. He looked back at the destruction that had been caused between his fight and Shay’s.

He then looked at the rest of the battlefield, there were many who had been injured, that were getting treatment. There were those that had their heads exploded.

Then there were also just the general field itself. The large cracks on the floor, the rubble on the ground from the golems that had been created.

The Neverfall clan that was off in the distance. This was meant to be a funeral, and in the end the whole day had turned out to this.

“It looks like your choices are limited as well,” Raze claimed. “Your Deleters they failed in the attack. The situation has turned, and because of this, I plan to go right after and take out Alter.”

Shay looked around, and it sounded like the words of Raze were true. She knew about the situation, she knew that they had seen the future and it was claimed that they would win.

It was why three of them had been sent. So how was it that they were able to lose in the end?

It didn’t make any sense. They had used the same item in situations before and everything had played out how they expected.

‘Someone can even change the fate of the future? If this is a man that was able to do that, and he is the one speaking, then maybe…he might be right about the other things as well.’

“The Deleters…all of them have been killed, including Garlon. Heino is not going to like that. It always seemed those two were close, maybe a bit too close,” Shay commented with a smile on her face.

“I’m afraid to say, even if I did join you, due to our little fight right now. That I wouldn’t be much help in this fight of yours.”

“That’s not a problem,” Raze said. “You’ve seen what those from our world can do. We have a talented healer on our side that can heal you up.

“We will do a mass healing, and right after, I’m going to go straight there. Alter can’t keep going on like this, they’ve gone too far, and they have given me the perfect reason to rally everyone under this banner.

“So what is your answer then.”

Shay weakly lifted up her head. She felt like she didn’t really have a choice, and oddly Raze was giving her hope, hope that she still had a chance at revenge.

“Alright…I’ll join your group, and I hope you can allow me to get my hands on some of those that were responsible for the elimination of the Noctis clan.”

Raze nodded in agreement. Murkel had ran off but whether they would ever see him again or not was another question.

“The end with the battle with the Deleters, I wonder how everyone else did,” Raze thought.

From the Empire, Heino had moved back to the Alter base and was causing big waves of movement from within the group.

First, he was using his power of disguising himself as the Emperor, which he had been doing for a number of years to get the regular citizens to head to the Alter base as well.

It was mainly the army and generals’ commanders where from there he would give them a few things.

One was powerful artifacts that would allow them to change the tide of any war, the other was a set of instructions that were seemingly on behalf of the Emperor.

In the same light, Heino had asked Kawk, Cicle, and Impress to do the same. To gather the strongest warriors of the Light Faction, and send them to the Alter base, where he would present to them, the same.

In his office, Heino was placing his hand by both sides of his head, and there was one more in the room with him, Red.

“You look like any second now you’re going to pull out your hair,” Red commented. “What’s going on? Is it the moving of all these groups that you have been running behind the scenes this entire time?

“I don’t understand it either, why are you suddenly giving out all of the artifacts that we have been gathering for so long. I thought you were always afraid they would be used against you.”

Heino let out a big sigh before answering.

“When there is a common enemy at hand, they will focus on using those items for me. At the same time, they are unaware of what we have ourselves.

“If we had them these powerful items they will think two things. First, that this is just a taste of what we have to offer, and they don’t wish to bite the hand that feeds them if they wish to get more.

“The second thing, if we are willing to give away items like these, then what possible items could we have ourselves. These will be the deterrents that keep them steady for now.”

“Right, right,” Red answered. “Besides that you always have us Deleters that can keep them in line, but what I was asking was more, why are you moving now. With having the Golden Globe, it’s only a matter of time before he heads to the other side and helps the others right?

“It’s not like we’re going to war or anything.”

There was then silence for a few moments, before Heino took a ring off his finger and placed it down on the table in front of him.

“This ring, is a life gem. A small part of a person’s magic core is used to make this ring, and as long as it shines a bright blue colour, it means the magic core of the person it’s linked to is still alive.”

“But, the gem’s colour is red, and it’s not shining brightly,” Red repeated, and as he said those words, he realized something.

He first thought the ring had belonged to Heino and was linked to his magic core, but that would have been stupid. If he was dead, he was dead, why would he need a stupid ring to tell him he had perished.

“Garlon, this ring was linked to Garlon,” Heino repeated as he picked it up and started to twirl it around my finger.

“Did you know he was a powerful mage, one of the strongest I had met. Even if he wasn’t a nine-star mage, due to his utilisation of space magic and other powers he could catch any mage off guard.

“If no one could get the job done then I would trust Garlon to do it. When thinking about this mission I thought about sending you.

“The reason I didn’t, is because I put more trust in Garlon getting the job than you.”

“Ouch,” Red immediately said holding his hand near his chest. “Well that hurt, you didn’t have to say it like that.”

Heino knew he didn’t hurt Red’s feelings, he didn’t care about these things, and Red knew why he couldn’t be trusted as much as Garlon who was Heino’s loyal lapdog.

“If Garlon has perished do you know what that means?” Heino asked. “It means that all of the Deleters that I have sent are most likely gone, each one of them has failed their task.

“This Dark Magus, I’m starting to understand why the Grand Magus had feared him so much. If he was able to do something like this.”

“Right,” Red answered. “He certainly was an interesting individual, I feel like if we were born under the same star then maybe the two of us could have been friends.”

“Funny you say that, for I believe the same thing,” Heino replied. “Either way, this is why I am preparing. The attack failed, and we know the Dark Magus wants the golden globe at all costs.

“If he’s working with the Bonum society, then they also know that it will take a while for us before we can use the Golden Globe.

“This is the only window they have. They will use every single little bit of power they have to come at us, and we need to be ready. We can’t underestimate them, which is why I’m prepared to use every power we have, and every artifact we have as well.”

Heino started to think, to wish that he had tried to solve the matter with the Dark Magus before, but due to the chain of events it was next to impossible.

They didn’t even know that he was working with Alter for a while, and that was the real kicker to them all.

“And let me ask you, what about that Enaxx guy that came, where is he, and can’t you use him?”

“Enaxx?” Heino asked. “I have no idea, but he’ll come when we need him, he might just be exploring the thrills of Pagna right now.”
