Dark Magus Returns #Chapter 1237: The Most Powerful Weapon (Part 2) – Read Dark Magus Returns Chapter 1237: The Most Powerful Weapon (Part 2) Online – All Page – Novel Bin

A sword that truly could cut anything was incredibly dangerous, their armor, the Qi they were wearing—it was all pointless, and Rayna had been the first to test it, using her spear against him.

Even though it was a good spear, one that was specially forged of high materials, it was still nothing in front of the weapon that was in Kawak’s hand.

Looking on the ground, Rayna kicked up another spear from one of the fallen warriors while dropping her own. The advantage of the spear was its reach, so cutting it down in half—it was useless.

“You two keep him busy for a moment, because this is getting really annoying!” Fing shouted, as he quickly disappeared from sight, and where he had gone the other two weren’t too sure.

“Are you okay to go in close?” Dame asked.

“Maybe our angle has to be from fighting from a distance,” Rayna said as she started to pour Qi into the spear. “There is more than one way to use a spear!”

She hurled it through the air, allowing it to build up power, it took the wind with it as a large strike was ready to come through. Just like all of the times before though, Kawak just sliced right through the strike right down the middle.

However, following up the strike, there were several Qi blasts right behind them, all delivered by Dame in succession.

Kawak went to block one or two of the strikes, but then three of them landed on him, hitting him on the shoulders and hurting his body as he was hit back.

“You’re relying on that weapon far too much!” Dame shouted. “Is this really the strength of a Light Faction leader?”

Hearing these words, for the first time it was Kawak who had decided to go on the offensive. He bent his knees down, placed his sword by his side, and then quickly rushed his way forward, heading straight for Dame.

It was a quick move, and Dame tried to move out of the way, to the side. He swung his arms to attack Kawak with his Qi blasts, but strangely, as if Kawak adding his Qi to his own blade, it was allowing his attack to have a wider range and cut through all of the attacks that came toward him.

The sword itself though struck and had hit Dame’s body. As he turned, he could hear a thud, and looking at the ground, Dame could see one of his own arms was on the floor. Blood along with a stinging pain was felt.

It was one of his back arms from his beast form, but it still hurt his body and went to show just how easy it was for the sword to cut him. Thankfully, due to it being part of the beast arm, the strange substance that formed the beast parts could heal up the wound, and Dame didn’t have to worry about bleeding out.

“Leave this one to me!” Fing shouted as he started to drink the gourd heavily, absorbing all of the Qi around. The entirety of Fing’s body now looked to be red.

His leg came crashing down as it had hit the top of Kawak’s shoulder, a large cracking sound was heard and the floor beneath broke. Kawak, bearing the pain, swung his sword aiming to hit Fing, but instead it had sliced right through the gourd, breaking it, causing it to drop to the floor.

Fing went back, as well as Dame, clearing the area having done what damage he could. The power from the gourd was always temporary. The gourd allowed him to absorb special powers such as Qi and mana and turn it into a drinkable source of energy.

While Dame and Rayna had been fighting against Kawak, Fing had gone around the battlefield absorbing what Qi he could, and then at once he had consumed it all, giving him a mass amount of power.

Allowing him to descend like a rocket. It was a powerful artifact that Fing had with him for a long time, and that artifact had been destroyed just like that.

‘It’s really dangerous to get even close to him… what are we meant to do?’ Fing thought.

Rayna had gone in, trying to fight with her spear. She stabbed away, but it was doing nothing, and then, Kawak was ready to strike back. Just like last time, the sword cut through the spear and then was aimed at her neck.

Fing burst with his newfound Qi in his body and grabbed Rayna, getting her out of the area.

“Do you have a death wish… stay out of this!” Fing said.

“You think I can!” Rayna replied back. “Even with the three of us attacking him, it’s not enough.”

With this, Dame had no choice, as he used the special power of his gauntlets. An ethereal spiritual-like image of Simyon had appeared, and soon went and surrounded the rest of his body. He knew Simyon’s hardness would do nothing against the sword, but that wasn’t what he was aiming for.

The gauntlet was able to take Simyon at his strongest and all the traits along with him, and that included his special electrified body he would use. Now Dame’s whole body was electrified, and he could move faster than before.

“Let’s see you cut through all of this!” Dame stated, as he swung his arms. They were moving faster than before as they were powered with Simyon’s lightning body.

Several Qi blasts came out, all aiming toward Kawak, who was trying his best to defend from the attacks. Then, Dame started to move his position, zapping from one area to the next, and continued the rampage of Qi blasts all heading toward Kawak.

‘No, this is not enough?’ Fing noticed. ‘I don’t think Dame can keep this up for long, and those Qi blasts—they’re not strong enough… there’s only one thing I can do.’

Dame, using the power of his gauntlets, was moving at an incredible speed around the battlefield. The others that had been fighting close by had moved away due to the amount of destruction that was occurring.

Some had already been caught up by a few Qi blasts from Dame’s fists and had been hit, exploding in the air. Due to some of his attacks being cut in half, it wasn’t just the enemy that was being hurt.

But Dame couldn’t afford to just focus on that; he needed to focus on taking Kawak down, otherwise he would be major trouble for them all.

‘I can’t even join in this fight, there’s no way I can aid Dame!’ Rayna thought. ‘But can Dame do this? Can he win this fight? Such a dangerous weapon in his hands, it will be bad for all of us if he was to fight the others.’

Rayna was imagining if the Crimson Crane had met up with Kawak instead. The amount of powerful items and weapons that the Dark Magus had created — all of them would have become useless.

She was starting to think that right now, no matter what, they had to stop Kawak. For the sake of the entire battle. But what could she do?

“A stronger attack is needed,” Fing said. “Sometimes sacrifices are needed, right? For the sake of everybody and the Clan. Rayna, tell Dame that I’m sorry for everything I did in the past.”

The words that Fing spoke — it was making Rayna’s heart want to jump out of her chest. Why was he saying these things? Why now of all times? He couldn’t be thinking of doing that, right?

Soon after, Fing had launched himself. In the middle of it all, he ran straight ahead. He still had the power of the Qi that had gathered from the others, empowering him, but he knew as soon as it disappeared, he would be useless in this fight.

He was already able to see the outcome. Dame would tire out, he would fall to the ground and proceed to get cut up. Beyond that, Rayna would try to save him along with himself, and the two of them would end up getting killed.

Not knowing the outcome of the battle ahead, there was another option — an option that he could think of.

Dame, who had zapped from the side, soon saw Fing running ahead, which made him stop throwing out his fists immediately.

“What is he doing?” Dame asked himself.

For a moment, Fing glanced in the direction of where Dame was.

“Get ready, don’t waste this opportunity!” Fing shouted.

Kawak, now seeing that the attacks had stopped, looked ahead. He had been hit, but it was no different from some of the training he had experienced. His body was strong, and he had a large amount of Qi, of course.

He was more than ready to fight, and he immediately saw Fing running at him. He readied his sword to strike Fing down, no matter what he had planned — until Fing burst with energy, moving in a smooth motion.

The technique was similar to one of the assassin arts, and seeing this burst of movement, Kawak believed that Fing would be going behind him. Instead, he ran straight ahead, running straight through the sword that was in his hand.

The sword had pierced through Fing’s body, close to the center of his chest, and with his hands reached out, he held onto Kawak’s hand.

“What are you doing!” Kawak said.

Kawak was trying to move, but it appeared as if it was impossible to move his hand. All of the strength of Fing was being used to hold steady onto his hand. Although the sword was able to cut anything, it still needed a hand to move the weapon.

So this was the way Fing had decided to best Kawak, and it was an unexpected sacrifice.

“You Light Faction members may think this isn’t fair, but you know, more important than the rules and morals that we learn in each of our clans, is the people around me,” Fing said. “And it was because of you Light Faction and Alter bastards that I realized that.”

Moving his other hand, Kawak was ready to strike Fing with a large force of energy to knock him away — until his hand had been grabbed by a monstrous figure that was right next to him.

Dame had appeared, and with the might of all of his hands, he punched Kawak with as much force as possible. He continued to hit Kawak with his hybrid form, his own arms, and used whatever he could.

Blood was spewing out from Kawak’s mouth, and eventually his grip had weakened until he had completely let go of the sword. As Kawak’s body was falling to the floor, one of the arms had grabbed onto Kawak and hurled him to the floor.

Right after, the various arms continued to pummel into Kawak again and again at a furious speed. Dame didn’t even know what he was doing — he was just relentless in his attacks, never stopping, until he heard a voice break through it all.

“DAME, stop!” Rayna shouted.

She was there, holding onto Fing, who was bleeding from his mouth with the sword still lodged in his chest.

When Dame finally stopped, he couldn’t even recognize the figure in front of him. Kawak’s body was flattened, nearly every bone had been crushed, and there was no face to even be seen in it all.

“Dame, what do we do, what do we do!” Rayna shouted.

Immediately, Dame jumped up and looked at Fing, who had a large smile on his face.

“I know this doesn’t make it even between us,” Fing said. “But I hope it at least makes up for some of the stuff I did. I hope you see I’m not as big of an arsehole as you thought.”

Another core battle on the battlefield had been decided, as the leader of the Aurora Clan, Kawak, had been eliminated.

Rayna and Dame were standing there as they looked upon their brother, with the sword lodged inside of him. They didn’t pull the sword out from his body as he was still breathing and alive.

They imagined that the sword still being inside of him might be the only thing that was keeping him alive, and as soon as they pulled it out they would perish.

“I’m surprised by how much this hurts.” Dame said. “You know, I thought that I would be happy the day I lost the two of you, but right now looking at you, I’m thinking I want you to stay.”

Dame was no longer using the power of his items, he had changed out of his hybrid form. Although he had fought for a shorter amount of time compared to what he usually would have done, he had used everything he had.

Every punch, every fist thrown was as strong as the last. It was how serious he had been taking the fight so far.

“The Light Faction leader, they defeated the leader of the Aurora clan, they killed Kawak!” Some of the Aurora clan members shouted.

“We must avenge the leader!”

“Attack them now, they have to be weak and tired, we can get them!”

The Light Faction members were seeing an opportunity and they were filled with anger as they lost their leader. If there was one thing that was clearly different of the Light Faction Clans compared to the other clans, is that they didn’t lose morale.

Due to their beliefs even if their leader was struck down, they truly felt like a warrior’s death was deserved on the battlefield giving everything they had.

“We don’t even have a second to rest!” Rayna said annoyed. “You look after Fing, I’ll deal with them.”

Rayna could tell that Dame was tired, and although they weren’t going up against the Light Faction leader, there still were a large number of warriors left that were strong talented middle stage warriors.

“Just leave me.” Fing said. “Rayna, I can tell you’re tired as well. Since the start of this fight, you have been going all out.”

The words spoken by Fing were true. In order to keep everyone morale high, Rayna was at the forefront of the fights that were taking place so far. She was an unmovable force as she continued to push showing no sign of weakness.

Now Kawak had been dealt with, all of the energy was being zapped from her. Sure she could still fight and stand, but how much could she actually do.

They had to make a choice, as a large amount of warriors were heading their way.

“We won’t leave you, stop being so stupid and stubborn!” Rayna shouted. “Who’s the leader of the expedition, it’s me. Did I give you permission to sacrifice yourself back there, no I didn’t.

“Stop being an idiot, and listen to what I say.”

Rayna was ready to place Fing’s body on the ground, ready to be by her brother’s side and fight, but just as they were about to, they saw a giant black wave of Qi come out from the side. It covered almost the entire battlefield and swept up the warriors on the side.

They had tried to use their weapons and Qi to block the attack but it was so unexpected, and seemingly out of nowhere that they were quickly swept away.

“That attack… is it Raze, has he come to join the battlefield?” Rayna thought, once again she believed that Raze had come to save them, just like the times he had entered before.

“Sorry to disappoint.” A voice said from behind them.

When Dame looked at who it was, he was pleasantly surprised, as he saw her bend down, and immediately she got to treating Fing, healing the wounds around his chest.

“Safa.” Dame said. “It looks like you’re alright, well doing better than alright.”

Some of the Light Faction warriors had survived the initial attack, and now continued to come towards them but one person stood in their way, holding onto a strange sword that looked like two large circles.

“Void pulse!” Liam shouted out, and he was launched forward. The wave of Qi had hit the remaining warriors blasting them off to the side, no longer allowing them to participate in the battle.

“This sword, it’s pretty good.” Liam smiled at himself.

He could feel it, the power of the sword along with his system. He could replicate any technique perfectly, and they wouldn’t just be poor imitations they were just as good as the real thing and with his system he knew the right time to use each of the techniques.

“You can pull the sword out now.” Safa claimed.

Dame did as he was told and with Safa’s hands still holding onto Fing’s chest the wound was closing up. He was feeling as good as new, there was no longer pain running through the entirety of Fing’s body. He felt almost as if he hadn’t even been stabbed at all.

“Fing… you’re okay, you’re okay!” Rayna said as she grabbed hold of her brother.

Shortly after, Liam had come to join the rest of the group, dealing with those that had attempted to attack them.

“It’s good to see that the two of you are fine and it appears you have quite the weapon there.” Dame commented.

“Right, about that, do you mind if I take that sword as well?” Liam asked pointing to the one on the ground.

He was used to using two swords in the first place, and if he had them two, he started to realise how much of a difference he might be able to make in the fight, and no longer would he feel useless. He could do something like he had just done moments ago.

“I think that would be fine.” Dame said.

As he saw Liam picking up the sword, collecting them like they were some sort of trophy.

“Come on.” Safa said. “This fight isn’t over yet. We need to deal with the main problem of all of this, we need to go for the leader of Alter.” She claimed.

Due to everything that had been going on on the battlefield, Heino had decided to join the battle himself.

With one of the special items of Alter, he had disguised himself as the enemy and had been playing a large part in the battle.

He was able to take out key figures, clan leaders, by disguising himself as their fellow allies.

However, he had seen the opportunity to get rid of one individual, one that he saw the sight of that had greatly disturbed him.

Only his surprise attack had failed, and he was now back in his normal elegant robe as he looked at Shay, his target.

“It appears that something has occurred that I never expected, for you to have joined the other side?” Heino claimed. “Honestly, I thought you were dead, but now that I think about it, it would have been better if you were dead!”

“I see you never did care about us, did you? Not that I ever expected that!” Shay shouted as she charged forward.

The moment she did, Heino jumped back and a coloured almost white spear had come out from his hand.

It was fast, accelerated, and even faster than a strike from a Pagna warrior. It crashed into Shay’s body.

She had expected it to pierce through her, but instead, it didn’t pierce completely—it almost had phased through her body.

It was now stuck inside her body, but there was no entry point, no physical wound in her skin, yet it exited out from the other side as well.

The pain from the strike was small, as if she had been hit by a regular fist—not enough to take her down by any means—but she could feel it, her whole body had slowed down slightly from the attack.

Still, she charged forward, knowing that Heino wasn’t a warrior and she would catch up to him eventually.

Yet he continued to jump back, throwing the strange white spear-like magic at Shay. They lodged into different parts of her body.

In doing so, the effect of her slowing felt like it was building up, and all the sharp pain from the spears was building up as well.

“What, did you think I had no way to fight myself?” Heino asked. “I see that you don’t have the item that I gifted you as well. Have you completely decided to discard everything to do with us? I wondered how they had managed to convince you.

“But I have my own questions to ask—when you betrayed us, was it before? Did you have a part to play in his death?”

Shay could feel something—the initial spear that had been lodged in her body—it was starting to disappear, and as the spear started to vanish, she was able to move quicker.

She still had the other spears in her body, so the effect of her body being slowed down was still taking its toll on her.

Right after, Heino made a fist with his hand, and at the same time, all of the spears lit up and exploded.

Shay was chucked in the air and landed on her feet, huffing and panting. A small trickle of blood came out of her mouth.

‘I should have known there was another use for those spears. That was stupid on my end… and did that hurt me internally?’

Instead of charging in, it was best for her to stay back. The spears moved too fast for her to even strike back.

Heino was proving to be a lot more difficult than she thought.

As Heino looked around him, he could see many fallen allies, and he had decided to act. He stretched out his hand.

Just like before, the wounds on their bodies appeared to be reversing. They were getting back up on their feet, and it was almost as if nothing had happened.

“Listen! That woman there is the enemy!” Heino declared. “Take her out no matter what it takes! If you fall, I’ll bring you back again and again!”

The warriors, hearing this—realizing they had a second chance—immediately charged toward Shay.

Shay didn’t use the Dark Edge sword arts—not against this cannon fodder that was coming toward her.

She could take them out with her Qi and sword skill alone. As she defended and attacked and was doing just that, she was thinking about what the best option was to take Heino down.

‘Even if I take these people out, he’s just going to bring them back again. But there has to be a limit to how much he can bring these people back—a time limit or something, right? Otherwise, he would have brought his boyfriend back, and he seems pretty upset at his death,’ Shay thought.

In the middle of her thoughts, she had the sword wielded in her hand, ready to strike a warrior from above, when seemingly out of nowhere, she saw Heino change position completely.

He had moved across the battlefield, clearing himself. He looked to be just as fast as a Pagna warrior.

The issue was—the flick of his hand had released another spear that lodged right into her.

Her sword swung down and struck the warrior, but she could feel herself slowed, and more spears were being thrown into her as she continued to fight.

Until she had slowed down significantly and was struck right on her back. Jumping out of the situation, she had no choice—even if she was slowed, she still had a mass amount of power.

Lifting her sword into the air, it eclipsed—being covered in Dark Qi.

“The second formation—eclipse strike!” She swung her sword out, and the entire area was covered in dark Qi.

Aiming straight for the warriors until Heino stood in front of them and held out his hand.

“Freeze!” The attack had been stopped. Then, with his other hand, he closed it, and all of the spears inside Shay had exploded at once.

She flipped about in the air, and on her way back down, she looked at Heino.

‘How… how am I meant to beat this monster?’

This fight was something that was clearly dangerous for Shay and she was realizing that. Originally she thought that Heino would be powerful due to the countless items he had. He was a mage but one that never showed the full extent of his power.

People joined his group because of his leadership and his sincerity, not because of his powers. The Deleters was part of what made Alter so strong, at least that’s what she thought.

‘I should have known, Heino is not a man that would allow those in his organization to have more power than himself. The reason why he gives out these items isn’t just for control and one to feel in debt, because it doesn’t matter with the powers he has.

Shay repositioned herself as she was making her way down to the ground and wiped the blood from her mouth.

“I need to focus, and use everything I have!” Shay thought, as the dark Qi surrounded her weapon and two small wings appeared.

“Dusk Wing Formation!” Shay shouted as she flung her sword.

Several aerial attacks of Dark Qi left her weapon crashing into the warriors below before they even got the chance to attack her.

The moment she had landed on the ground, there was only one thing she could do as she lifted the sword in the air.

“Do you think I would be so foolish as to allow you to do as you wish!” Heino quickly flicked his hand several times throwing spear after spear into her.

Her Qi started to gather on one spot, and at the same time the two of them activated their skills.

“Eternal Night Formation!” Shay shouted.

Heino clenched his hand and explosions had gone off. He was wondering whether he was able to perform his skill in time or not.

Until he could see the spread of darkness throughout the area, covering where they were, and then Shay standing there, her arms dragged down.

“That one hurt a little less, thankfully I was just a little faster.” Shay said with a smile. “It’s a shame though I don’t have my helmet, otherwise this might have gone very differently.”

Shay continued to use the Dusk Wing Formation. She swung her weapon and as she did, all of the attacks were going straight to where Heino was, like they were a magnet.

“You can stop the large attacks but I don’t think you’ll be so good with so many at once, right? And it looks like your freezing skills won’t work on this space either!” Shay shouted.

She saw several spears coming out towards her, but using the power of the space and the special power of her dark Qi, she attracted the attacks away from her.

Letting the spears hit nothing but the air, and seeing this, she had the largest smile on her face.

“It looks like, I can finally not worry about those damned annoying spears as well!” She charged forward with her sword now changing as she activated the Phantom Edge Formation.

She was ready to swing the weapon and have multiple copies hit Heino, until she saw him moving at a fast speed once again.

Her attacks from the Dusk Wing Formation had all been absorbed to one place, and had missed its target. She could see that Heino was still coming toward her and she struck but hit nothing but the air.

Right after Heino had gone right past her.

“It’s a shame, that even after all this time in Pagna, I didn’t bother to learn any such skills. Instead I focused on my specialty. Which is another annoying thing about my power as well.”

Shay turned around and could see that Heino had gotten behind her. It wasn’t the first time she had seen him move so fast.

‘He can control time magic right, is that how he can increase his own speed, him talking about not being a warrior, is he saying if he was he could have killed me just now.’

The realization was setting in for Shay. Thankfully all Heino knew was magic.

“It’s quite the shame that I can’t use other elements freely either due to the special condition of my magic.” Heino claimed. “You see to increase my affinity with time magic, I am not able to use other magics as freely. Of course I can use other magics but it would damper my affinity with time magic each time.

“For years and years, I have been biding my time as my affinity with time magic has grown. I use its powers in my everyday life right now, and I am now able to perform quite the amazing feats.

“Sure I can’t hurt you in a lot of ways directly, but to try and kill me with these tricks, they won’t work.” Heino then placed his hand on the ground.

Shay was wondering what was happening, but it didn’t take her long to figure it out. The darkness that was around them was crumbling.

‘Why…why is it all falling down, I only just used the technique. It took a lot of my Qi to use but it should still be sustained. Freezing the skill wouldn’t do much, so she thought she was safe, and now she could see it all crumbling down.

Until it eventually disappeared.

“You have no chance of defeating me. There is a reason I have lived this long, and Shay for abandoning the Deleters, for turning your back on all of us, I will make sure you have a painful death!”

Lifting his hand up once again, many of the fallen warriors Shay had defeated were once again back up on their feet.

Shay was back to where she was in the fight. Not any closer to winning it.

“Damn it!” Shay thought, until she started to feel a warm glow around her body. The aches and pains, her heavy and painful breathing all of it was starting to come back.

When Shay turned around she could see, it was the Dark Magus’ sister, her annoying eye patch friend, and then there were others, the heads of the Demonic Factions as well.

“We are here, to take Alter down!” Rayna declared.

Shay had planned to fight on her own, because for the longest time she had always been on her own. Even when the Noctis Clan were being chased, and she lost members one by one she was on her own.

Even when joining Alter she had done so as a Deleter away from the others, not saying a word or getting friendly with any of the members. The majority of those in Alter were different as well, joining due to them being from different worlds, but she didn’t have that similarity with them.

Now she was fighting by the side of the Dark Magus, the similarity they shared, was that they used the same set of skills and techniques as each other, and if anything she was forced to be convinced to fight by his side.

Now, with the target that had started it all, she had focused to take down Heino. Unaware that another target of hers had appeared elsewhere on the battlefield, but she had been planning to do it on her own.

In her mind she was trying to figure out how to beat Heino, he had bested all of her skills, and that was when the others showed up. Safa, Liam, Dame, Rayna and Fing.

People she had barely talked to, but there was a common enemy in front of them.

“What is this?” Heino said. “All of you are here?”

Heino recognized them well, when he was on the wall he had been carefully watching the flow of the battlefield. He had determined the troublesome ones that needed to be dealt with.

“The fact that you are here, I have to imagine that they lost?” Heino even looked at the weapons that Liam was holding. Trophies, proof of it all. “It doesn’t matter, I guess I have to do what I can, and bring them back into the fight, even though they don’t deserve it?”

A Qi blast fist went through the air straight toward Heino. Stretching out his hand he had stopped it before it hit him. The Qi blast looked somewhat similar to air itself, hard to see, but there were currents around it, so everyone could see it had clearly been frozen in place where it was right now.

It was the first time the others were seeing his magic being used like it was.

“Alright, let’s play with you all.” Heino with his other hand dangled his fingers—six spears had appeared right above his head.

‘He can shoot more than one of these things at once?’ Shay noticed and had to warn the others. “Don’t let those spears hit you!”

Heino spread out his fingers and all of the spears accelerated into the direction of the others. He also moved his hand away from the Qi blast and was able to avoid the strike himself.

Then with his other hand he continued to fire out the spears in all directions to the others.

The special time-piercing spears that Heino could create were quite unique in how they could be used. When he was just fighting Shay, he could only create and throw one of them out at a time.

He could slow one object at a time, but if going up against multiple targets, he could create a time spear for each individual. He just had to constantly attack, having marked his targets and the time spears would head to all of them.

Which was what he was doing now.

The others had to react fast. Fing, Dame and Rayna tried to strike at the spears directly. When they did though, they were lodged in their body. Slight pain was felt but there was nothing else.

The same was for Shay as she tried to strike but was too late. Only when doing a mass attack had she even been able to stop the strikes ahead.

However, there was one person with some luck. Liam had calculated the speed and when to swing, with the sword that could cut through anything, and he had sliced the spears apart protecting not just himself but also Safa.

“Everyone, forget about the spears, I’ll heal you, attack with all you have!” Safa shouted out, as her body started to change, the strange golem parts had emerged on her hands.

“Stay behind me, and you go for the hit when you can!” Liam shouted.

Safa nodded and agreed.

Even with the spears lodged in them, everyone had decided to go in for the strike.

Fing had jumped with a kick, that Heino moved out of the way, and exploded the spears inside his body. At the same time, Rayna swung her spear at his head, which he had managed to quickly avoid as well and snapped his fingers blowing up the spears.

As he moved past them, he threw more spears into their direction, but that’s when he saw a large wave of Dark Qi come right at him. He lifted his hand to stop the attack that was coming from Shay, when he saw something else slice and come right through the attack itself.

Liam was seen holding the sword.

“How does it feel, for your own weapons to be used against you!” Liam shouted.

Even the time freeze didn’t seem to work, since Liam held the sword in front of him, and it was cutting the very spell that was being used.

Several spears were fired out but Liam blocked and swung them all, until Safa had appeared with her Lux spear in the air.

She twirled her spear around in the air, a smooth presence of light magic filled the area healing her allies. She had to be direct with her magic, controlling it even in this attack to make sure not to heal the enemy.

And then right as she landed, she shoved the spear right through Heino’s stomach. He was unable to stop the attack, and blood was pouring out of his mouth.

“She got him!” Shay thought, and the others had a smile on their faces as well.

“Nice…” Heino answered. “But it was all useless.”

Safa had gathered up her Qi, and light magic to the point of her spear. She had used it and carefully planned her attack. Just in case Heino had some other way of blocking the attack with her hands, she had decided to go for a vital blow.

It had worked. Her spear had broken through a strange barrier. She had felt it, the barrier perhaps was due to the magical blazer he wore and many other mages wore, and then she saw the spear go right through his stomach.

Heino wasn’t a Pagna warrior, so an attack that was this powerful—it was bound to do damage. Even if Heino could get out of it all, now they knew with all of them, they were able to hurt him somewhat.

So, why was it—why was it that he was smiling even though the spear had gone through his stomach? Blood was even rising from his mouth, clear that the attack had affected him in some way.

“All of you have no idea what I’m capable of,” Heino claimed.

Suddenly, right in front of Safa, she could see a large mass of magic appear. Her god eyes were informing that it was happening all around her, and in the area where she was standing right now.

“GET OUT OF THERE!” Liam shouted, afraid that he wouldn’t be able to reach her in time and cut whatever magic was being used.

Then the floor lit up, and the two of them disappeared, their bodies were no longer there. Liam fell to his knees.

“Did I fail again? Did I fail to stop her just like last time?” Liam said to himself.

“Wait, look,” Dame said as he appeared by Liam’s side. He had transformed back into his Hybrid form. He hadn’t used the power of his gauntlets, having not used them so long ago.

There was still a time period left before he could use them again, but he wasn’t so sure it would benefit them anyway. Dame placed his hand on Liam’s shoulder, then pointed up ahead.

They could see Heino—he had almost teleported from one position to another, back to where he had started when they first saw him. But it wasn’t just that. When they looked at him, they could see the wound in his stomach—it had completely healed up, as if it had never been attacked in the first place.

“Stop crying!” Fing shouted, sliding by their side. “Your girlfriend is doing just fine. She’s behind us.”

Liam turned his head, and it was true. He could see Safa behind them. The position they were in when they first arrived—she wasn’t in her special stone form either. She was just her, and even from the look on her face, she appeared to be surprised.

She looked at her hands and immediately activated her god eyes.

‘What just happened? I had just pulled the spear out of Heino’s body, and then my entire body moved to here. I didn’t move myself. I was forced here.’

When using her god eyes, she was trying to confirm something, and that confirmation had made her worst fears come true. The mana and Qi she had just used—all the resolve she had put in when attacking Heino—it had come back to her.

This had given her an inkling to what had occurred. When she looked at Heino, she could see it was the same. It was no illusion. She couldn’t tell he had fully healed, but what was worse—the mana that was flowing around Heino—it had returned as well.

“You can tell, can’t you?” Heino said as he looked at Safa in the back of the group. “You seem to be smarter than the others, and you have the god eyes. It’s rare—but so is a Light Mage—and the combination means you can see through things more clearly.

“So why don’t you tell them all what happened, and what’s going to happen—that you have no chance of winning this fight?” Heino claimed.

“Safa… tell us,” Rayna said as she gripped her hand around her spear. One of the ones she had picked up from the ground. “If we don’t know, then we won’t be able to figure out a way to beat him.”

Safa gulped.

“I think… he was able to reverse the time, for everyone who was within his zone,” Safa explained. “The reason why me and Heino moved back to our positions. It’s because our bodies’ time was reversed to where we were a few minutes ago.

“To when we had no wounds. To when we hadn’t used any of our skills.”

The group were a little shocked. They knew magic was powerful—but for it to be this powerful? To be able to slow them all down, to freeze large-scale attacks, to bring back those that had been defeated—and now there was this as well.

Heino could send himself back to the past, or a certain zone. It didn’t affect anyone else’s time, though—other than Safa. Meaning all of the Qi, all of the wounds they had suffered—they were still affected by it.

“If he keeps doing that, how are we meant to kill that guy!” Fing shouted.

Even with obtaining the weapons from the others, it looked as if the biggest threat on the battlefield was Heino. He needed to be dealt with, otherwise he was an individual that could change the tide of the entire war.

Heino’s shoulders started to visibly move—shaking up and down—because he still had much more to show.

“These are the moments I live for,” Heino claimed.

——

Elsewhere on the battlefield, they were unaware, though. One person was close. Several carriages filled with crystals had evaporated into the air, turning into nothing but particles.

While Raze sat on the floor, his hand on the power stone itself.

Energy constantly flowing through him, and his core circulating.

‘I can feel it… I’m about to break into the next Star!’

Shay had been finding it difficult fighting Heino on her own. Now that she had the others by her side, she thought the situation would be better.

Somehow it had ended up the same, and now she had also discovered the other having even more powers than she expected.

“Even if he uses that power, we can still do something right, right?” Shay thought.

She picked up the sword and as she looked around her, the others hadn’t given up either.

They had fought countless enemies to reach the point they were at now. They had lost a large amount of allies by their side because of this individual in front of them.

They weren’t going to give up at the first hurdle!

Shay activated her Qi again on her weapon and two wings appeared by the side. She started to run forward and swung it through the air aiming to strike Heino.

At the same time, Dame was acting as well, punching the air shooting out Qi blasts.

Projectile hits were now coming through two people powerful, and incredibly fast.

“Liam can you do me a favour?” Safa said.

“Sure.” Liam answered as he was getting ready to continue to block whatever strikes would come towards them.

“I need you to pay attention, to where he was at the start of the fight. If he uses the same skill as last time, tell me how much time has passed before he returns to the same position again.”

A regular person perhaps couldn’t get the precise time, but Safa knew that Liam had the system, the system that could calculate it all.

Liam nodded as they all moved in like before. All of them striking using their Qi attacks.

The pattern was pretty much playing out the same way as it had done so far. Next to no attacks were landing on Heino.

He was able to throw out his spears hitting nearly everyone apart from Liam and Safa who were close to each other.

“Don’t worry, and just strike!” Rayna shouted. “Safa will heal us!”

Rayna had gotten close this time with her spear, as a flurry of attacks from Shay and Dame had forced Heino in the direction towards her.

Fing was right on his tail from behind and Rayna had a clear shot.

Heino had activated the spears causing a large explosion in them all again. Fing had been hit back, falling onto one of his knees.

Heino had clearly expected the same to happen to Safa, but she managed to land a large cut right across his face.

The tip of the spear had gone through his eye. She then shoved it forward, she was unable to hit the spear through Heino’s head, so instead she swung the spear down slamming it on Heino’s shoulder.

The hit was heavy causing him to now fall down on one knee.

The reason Rayna wasn’t blown back by the attack was all because of the special items she had, her special boots she was wearing that made it so she wouldn’t be flung back.

Due to how hurt Heino was, he had no choice. The dome-like magic was starting to activate around the two, and before Rayna could finish off Heino with her spear the two of them vanished.

Returning back to the spot they were in. Rayna herself had healed from the attack as well, and was in better condition, but everything they had done, all the Qi and energy expended by the others it was a waste.

“Liam.” Safa called out. “Two minutes… two minutes.”

“You understand then right, how we can win this?” Safa asked. “Both, you and Shay, get ready, and the rest of us will push him… tell her where to go, keep note of everything happening!”

Safa was already off in her Golem form, she was healing Dame and Fing who had been hurt in the fight, and was joining directly herself.

While Liam ran over to where Shay was. He had an idea of what Safa was planning, but this relied a lot on him, and he needed to focus to see how things would play out.

Immediately, Safa, Dame, Rayna and Fing pushed forward as a four. They were chasing Heino all over the place again.

Now Dame, was attacking much more directly trying to bulldoze his way through. Safa using her healing powers was making it so Heino’s attacks were almost ineffective.

As Heino stepped back, out from Dame’s mouth he had shot some webbing from his Hybrid form. Something he hadn’t used in a while.

It had attached itself to Heino’s foot, stumbling for a moment. He was in trouble as all of them rushed toward him.

Even though he wasn’t hurt, if he was to take a big hit like so it would be problematic, so in that moment Heino had decided to use his powers.

Then, Heino had vanished right in front of them.

“NOW!” Safa had shouted.

Shay coming from one side, and Liam coming from another, were in the exact spot where Heino was. Both of them were using the Void Pulse formation.

Now Liam in his hand had the weapon of the Light Faction leader, the weapon that could copy any attack.

Liam understood what Safa was saying. As long as Liam paid attention with his system, when he used his skill to revert back time, it was always two minutes.

So if he kept track of where Heino was two minutes ago, he knew exactly what spot he would appear in.

It was something that only Liam could do with his system.

“So you used your heads.” Heino said as both of them launched themselves at the same time.

They had moved only half a step until it froze. Until the whole area had frozen, there were no attacks no change in the expression and the only area that was moving was the fighting that was going off a little in the distance.

“I can’t believe, you managed to push me so far.” Heino said. “So which one, is the most troublesome, which one should I kill first?” Heino claimed.

Now Heino was using one of his most powerful spells. To stop time within a certain area.

It was similar to when he stretched out his hand to stop a singular attack, only on a far larger scale, because no one was moving.

The attacks, the Qi, none of those that were close to Heino were moving.

The area where the spell and magic worked was limited though, as the battle across the battlefield was still going on.

Odd glances that came across now and then from the others in the battlefield, but from what they were seeing what they couldn’t understand, they had decided that it was best for them to just not get involved at all, and continued in dealing with their own messes and troubles.

Now Heino had calmly moved away from both Liam and Shay and looked at all of the others that attacked him so far.

“Which one of you, will be the best to get rid of?” Heino thought. “Ah Shay, my dear Deleter who went against me, you would be most satisfying but out of everyone here there is one person that is more troublesome than any other.”

Heino looked straight ahead at Safa with her Lux sword.

“I have a feeling, that she was the one that had come up with the plan. She is the smartest out of the whole group here and she also has the god eyes.

“Her ability is also a hindrance to mine, so it will be best to get rid of her!”

As Heino walked forward already choosing his target in sight, he turned his head to the side.

He looked through those that were fighting and he could see it through the air, a large pulse of Mana, and then he felt it flow through his fingertips.

“What is going on over there… that didn’t feel like Enaxx’s mana, no that was much more like a….”

Far off in the distance, Raze had finally done it, and his plan had worked. Absorbing a large number of Beast crystals using the extraction technique, he was able to break through.

He now was a seven star mage. With the breakthrough completed and him gaining a new star, his control as well as his own Mana had all returned.

Not just that, but he was even stronger than before. It still was away from his nine star status that he had before, but he felt closer to his peak of magic than further away now.

‘I have my Qi, and my seven star magic combining both of this, I have enough power to get rid of Enaxx once and for all, to get him back for everything he’s done!’ Raze thought as he was ready to leave, until a particular person had shouted at him.

“Raze wait!”

When Raze turned around, he was quite surprised at who it was, because it was Bubble. A person who wasn’t directly involved in the fight and had been staying far at the back along with Aruora.

“What is it?” Raze almost snapped. “I don’t have a lot of time.”

“I promise it’s important.” Bubble said as he was breathing heavily. “You know I asked you to come here, so I could film, and let the whole world see what was happening.

“The devices that have been handed to me I have been using them this entire time. And I have teams that are set up in the largest towns and cities across all of the Dark and Demonic Faction.

“They’re seeing what is happening right now!” Bubble said out of breath.

Although this was good for the sake of the entire of Pagna, Raze wondered why did he care about this.

Murkel was fighting against Enaxx right now. Either Murkel would die, and Enaxx be heavily injured, or Murkel would end up killing Enaxx.

One thing Raze didn’t want to happen was for Enaxx to get away.

“I just want to tell you about what I saw. It’s about your friends, your allies fighting out there on the battlefield, right now they’re going up against that Alter guy… and they seem to be struggling.”

Bubble paused for a second before he continued.

“He seems to be giving your friends a lot of trouble. I’m no expert when it comes to Pagna fighting but I have a feeling… that at this rate they might lose.”

Hearing those words, Raze gripped both of his fists. He thought all of this was meant to be simple. His plan had been stopped along the way and he never thought Enaxx would be here in the first place.

It had thrown a large explosion into his plans. After breaking through he was meant to deal with Heino.

Using what he had, his magic, his Qi, and also he still had his special god tier blazer that he was wearing as well.

The whole reason he had created the blazer was to go up against Heino.

But… how could he, how could he leave Enaxx be. The individual he had been chasing his whole life.

The reason he had gotten this far, the countless people he had hurt and killed, all of it was with the thought in his mind it was fine, as long as he got his revenge on Enaxx, and they were here right now in front of him.

‘There’s only one choice.’ Enaxx thought as he walked forward. ‘Revenge was the reason why I came here.’

Raze used wind magic, and lifted himself up in the air. He then started to fly through the battlefield.

‘I have to get rid of Enaxx no matter what.’ Raze thought as he started to descend, and landed right in the middle of the battlefield.

‘So then… why do I find myself, why do I find myself, right here right now!’ Raze lifted his hand.

“Don’t step a foot closer to them!” Raze said… “These people are my friends!”

In Raze’s mind, he was constantly remembering what had happened between him and Enaxx. The countless meetings they had, each time they fought and how Enaxx had managed to slip through his fingers.

Then there was what he had done to Jake, his last friend in the world of Alterian. The answer had become clear in his head; he knew what to do, so he didn’t quite understand then, why was his body moving on its own, and why was it moving him toward where Heino and the others were?

When Raze landed and looked at the others around, frozen in place, he knew the answer. And if anything, it was because of his memories with Jake.

Just like Jake, all of these people had etched their way into his heart. Before he knew it, they had become important to him, and what he didn’t want to happen was the same thing that had occurred with Jake.

He didn’t want to lose another one like him. Perhaps the added realization of losing Simyon had also entered his mind, a person he should have been there for more, and now he had a chance to be there for them again.

Raze stood on the battlefield, in front of Safa, blocking Heino’s path. His blazer, which appeared more like a trench coat as it hung low and flowed around the bottom close to the ground, was swaying.

Raze was visibly moving despite everything else staying still. It had taken Heino by surprise, but what took him even more by surprise were the words that came out of Raze’s mouth.

“Haha! Did you just call them friends?” Heino said. “Aren’t all these people here from Pagna? How long have you even been here, a year at most? You’ve been here such a short time, and you’re already considering them friends?”

Based on what Raze had learned, Heino, the last emperor of Alterian, had to have been in Pagna for a considerable amount of time. Maybe that was why he was finding the whole thing foolish.

“Is there a hint of jealousy in your voice?” Raze asked with a smile. “Is that why you do all this? Because you can’t even make connections with people? After building the entire group of Alter, after spending so much time here, you can’t even consider one person your friend. No wonder all you can do is work for someone else.”

The words had clearly hit a nerve with Heino, as the smile was wiped off his face.

“For someone who was named the Dark Magus, from all the stories I heard, I just didn’t consider you the type to make friends so easily.

“I thought you were more like me, having lived a life similar to mine. Anyone who wishes to get close to you just wants to use you one way or another. I imagine it’s the same for you, Dark Magus.”

But it wasn’t the same. If anything, Raze knew he had been using them for his goals a lot more than them using him. They knew it as well, yet they still decided to help him in a time like this.

Now Heino was focusing on the special clothing that Raze was wearing. The fact that he was able to move. He imagined it had something to do with that. The last time the two had met, he didn’t have this perticular item.

“It seems meeting you back then might have been a mistake,” Heino said. “You knew you would meet me again, so you made some precautions. Is that magical item made from dark magic? Is that how it’s repelling my spell?

“The fact that you can still move in all of this means I’m just wasting my power.” Heino lifted his hand and clicked his fingers.

At that moment, everything started to move again. Shay and Liam crashed into each other, both with their Void Pulse active, creating a giant wave of Qi explosion behind them.

They weren’t too badly hurt as their powers were close to equal, but they were left confused, wondering just what had happened.

Now everyone could move, Fing, Dame, Rayna, and Safa as well. As they looked around the battlefield, their eyes finally landed on Heino, but they could see that someone else was standing next to him as well.

“Raze!!” Safa shouted.

“When did he appear? Did he just teleport here like the others?” Dame asked. “Does he know time magic as well? No, that can’t be it.”

“Although I hate to admit it, I have a sinking feeling that we might have just been saved by him right now,” Fing answered.

It wasn’t just Fing that felt that way, they all did. They couldn’t explain how Raze had just appeared, but there was a heavy tension in the air. For a split second, the same feeling as a knife being held against their throats was there, and then it disappeared.

“Raze, it’s good you’re here. Heino’s magic is powerful, but with all of us we can—”

“No.” Raze replied. “This is a fight that I’ve decided to take on myself. I won’t be able to fight with everything I have if you’re by my side. There are still ways you can all help in this battle.

“Help the others that have taken up arms in this fight. Make it so as few lives as possible are lost, and we’ll end this war, as quickly as possible.”

The others, after everything Heino could do, and after what they believed had just happened, they felt like Raze was right. In order to let him do what needed to be done, they scurried off into the distance.

Now, Heino and Raze stood a short distance away from each other. And in the air, a circular mirror-like object hovered above, Bubble’s special device recording everything and showing it to the rest of Pagna. A fight that would decide their fate.
