Standing in front of Heino, the first thing Raze did was lift his hand up, dark magic swirled around and when it disappeared into nothing but particles the ghost blade could be seen in its place.
“Oh, and here I thought you were going to try and best me with magic?” Heino claimed. “Don’t you have some pride to try and pit your magic against mine.”
Raze then placed his sword right up against him, the sword started to glow brighter as his demonic Qi had entered it. Right after, the outside of his sword wind currents started to form.
“Pride, who cares about that, you are just a hurdle that’s in my way right now, and I need to blast right past you!” Raze claimed as he swung his sword down.
The Crimson slash was unleashed, going out fast and cutting right through the floor. Heino didn’t have time to freeze such an attack and instead quickly accelerated his body and moved out of the way.
Following up from the attack, Raze launched himself heading right for Heino. Seeing this, just like how he fought against Shay, he threw out the special time spears.
They had hit Raze cleanly on his body, but when they passed through him, they started to disintegrate immediately.
“What?” Heino said as the sword was right above him, and came crashing down onto the ground. When the sword hit the floor several wind strikes had flung out from the direction of the sword heading in all sorts of different directions.
They had even flung themselves in the direction of Raze, but before even reaching him they had disintegrated into nothing but particles.
The attacks did happen to touch Heino, but they didn’t touch him directly. As the sharp wind strikes hit him his barrier had activated, protecting him from getting harmed in the slightest.
Raze quickly turned around, and stomped his foot, trying to use earth magic to slow or trap Heino, but his speed was too fast. Every barrier he would lift, or wall he would raise Heino had already moved out of it.
As Heino moved he continued to throw his spears against Raze but all of them were disintegrating the moment they touched his body. They were useless, they weren’t having an effect on him nor were they slowing him down.
For Raze, he was having a similar problem, Heino was fast and he had a special barrier that could block his wind strikes, the fastest of all of his magic, at least that was what Heino thought.
Sparks started to ignite from right underneath Raze’s feet, they stretched out with the remnants of the lightning touching part of his back, in his hand he changed to a new sword, one that was enchanted with lightning itself.
“You’ve been in Pagna for so long, but I don’t think you will have come across someone like me.” Raze claimed. “In order to beat the Grand Magus, the other nine star mages, who always seemed to meld together, to fight them together I had to become even stronger.
“So I strived for the perfect balance between magic, and being a Pagna warrior, and this is the result.”
Raze dashed from his feet, and as fast as lightning itself he moved to a separate area. Heino was moving fast as well, but he could tell Raze was able to track him, and it almost looked like he was keeping up with him.
Raze suddenly appeared in another area behind Heino, but he was still a large distance away. Because Raze needed to get rid of something else troubling first.
He slammed his foot down and with his free hand he fired out a dark pulse. His hand was slightly electrified giving it a small boost before his dark magic would disintegrate the lightning.
It shot out fast and as it hit the barrier, it broke part of it, making an opening.
Raze quickly moved zigzagging from one area to the next, until his entire hand had grabbed onto Heino, and slammed his body to the ground.
Raze’s hand was completely electrifying him, and Raze was dragging his body across the floor. Ripping his skin as he continued to move. With his other hand free Raze was ready to end the fight.
“A mage’s death, is the moment he gets caught,” Raze had his sword ready and sharp. Swinging it he felt something, the weight everything disappearing from his hands.
It wasn’t just Heino that had disappeared from his hands though, it was Raze himself who was now back on the battlefield where he had started. He was now facing Heino once again, who was completely uninjured but had quite the angry look on his face.
“You are one fighting person, one very frightening person.” Heino said. “This is why I always hated Dark Magic, when I learnt about its properties I knew it would be an annoying thing to battle.
“That whole magical blazer you’re wearing it’s made of Dark Magic isn’t it, that’s why my attacks aren’t working on it.”
It was as Raze had predicted. The old emperor had made it so Dark Magus was forbidden but not because of the various taboos surrounding dark magic. Instead it was so his power could never be fought against.
His powerful magic against time, it was perhaps the only counter there was to it. The fact that Heino was already having a difficult time against Raze was proof of all of this already.
“The Dark Magus, for someone with that name you don’t seem to be specialising in Dark Magic so much, oh well, I guess it is what it is.” Heino claimed. “And about one thing, you were wrong, I did have one friend…and I received your gift well the last time.
“I guess I owe him at least that much right, to at least take you out.”
Heino started to rub one of the rings on his hand, and Raze could tell immediately it was the power of an artifact, but just what artifact would Heino keep for himself, and not give away.

“You think I didn’t notice?” Raze said before he approached Heino again. After capturing him and letting him slip through his fingers, he realized he needed to think a bit more about the best way to get him.
Right now, Heino was on the back foot as well, unable to even harm Raze with the magic he was currently using, but the entire time, Raze had also been cautious about something else.
“What, you think you have me all figured out?” Heino said as he continued to play with the ring on his finger with his other fingers.
“You should know, you’re fighting against a mage now,” Raze answered. “Not just any mage, but one of the top Mages, a nine-star mage. I could tell that nearly every accessory item you have on your body is an enchanted item.
Your earrings, the chain around your neck, what you’re wearing on your bracelet, and the rings around your fingers. It might just look like useless decorations to some, but for someone who has been part of Alter for an incredibly long time, it’s expected for you to have some items kept to yourself, right?”
Heino just laughed as he pulled on both of the earrings by his head. He placed them in his hand, and they started to form into an item that was somewhat familiar to him recently.
They looked like the items that Harvey had given Raze at one point, and the same weapons that Scar had used as well. The objects that were known as guns.
“Maybe my time spears could do nothing, but these are a bit different. They turn my time Mana into fairly large explosions, and I would like to see how long your special blazer can last against this!” Heino pulled the trigger.
Small forms of Mana came out right in front of Raze. He wanted to use his weapon to try to attack it, but before it could, a large explosion had gone off right in front of Raze’s face. It was powerful, and it was one created with Mana.
Breaking through the smoke, Raze was seen with the sword in hand, using lightning to electrify his boots once more. He was seen chasing after Heino, and while Heino was moving backwards, he continuously fired out explosion after explosion his way.
They were all hitting Raze, and it was hard to tell if they were affecting him or not.
Then, right out of the smoke, a large strike came, breaking through it and heading straight for Raze.
Heino shot at the attack, and it had frozen, staying still in place, just like when Heino used his hand.
“These bullets can do more than you think…they can take the properties of the magic that I put into them as well. The only downside is, they use a high amount of mana!”
Heino continued to fire away, and the explosions were powerful. It had highly condensed magic; Raze could feel that, and he was getting hurt.
When Raze had upgraded his blazer, its properties had changed somewhat. The old blazer had given him a protective barrier and helped heal his body slowly.
His body was still able to heal, but the protective barrier disappeared. Instead, small particles of dark magic from the blazer would hit the magic. This was why certain attacks disintegrated before they even reached him.
In some cases, it was a better barrier but wasn’t directly a barrier. If a strong enough attack was cast, like the explosive bullets being used now, then it would only get rid of some of the attack, while other parts of it would affect Raze.
Thankfully, he wasn’t just a mage like before, and his body was sturdy, but as the attacks hit him more and more, he could feel it building up.
Even with Raze moving as fast as he did, he was still getting hit.
Then he noticed Heino just disappear again. This time, Raze wasn’t close enough to him for the effect to make it so he also vanished with Heino, but he had reappeared in a completely different spot.
The bullets then came from another location, and with one hand, Raze lifted up several earth walls to block the bullets. He continued to do this to at least stop getting hit for a moment while he had time to think.
‘This fight, it’s taking longer than I thought it would. I keep thinking about Enaxx in the back of my mind,’ Raze thought. ‘Why did he use that power now? I can gather he’s reversed time; he did that to heal himself from his injuries, but why use that now?
Is it because of what he said before? Do the guns really use a high amount of magic? If that’s the case, does his time reversal also reverse the mana he uses? That would also mean if he got his mana back, he could use these items as much as he wanted; it would be no problem for him at all?’
Regardless of all of that, Raze had to think of a way he could beat Enaxx, and there were a few options at his disposal. Due to the effects of Heino’s gun freeze, the Dark Edge sword arts were mostly useless.
The attacks could be stopped even before reaching him, and the Dark Edge sword arts weren’t the quickest moves to pull off either. Then there was another option.
‘There’s the power of the blazer I could use. I was saving it for when I go up against Enaxx though, and there is also a risk with the curse that takes place…it could have the complete opposite effect if I’m not careful, but more than anything…’
Raze started to think of the time magic that Heino was using. If it was able to reverse time and allow a person to get their mana back, would it reverse everything? Including the effects of a curse?
“If that is the case, then I need to get it for myself,” Raze said with a smile.

The power of time, a unique type of magic that mages were just born with. This was a type of magic and talent that wasn’t given to Raze. He wasn’t meant to be someone great, but there was one thing that he had learned in Pagna that might have given him an advantage.
That was the Demonic Extraction technique. He had used this skill before on mages, and in doing so, he was able to increase the power and affinity in his mana core. Not just on people, but he also could use this skill on power stones, and depending on their affinity, he would be able to unlock new affinities or increase his strength.
It was how he was able to gain new affinities so far. So the question came to his mind: what if he were to use the extraction technique on someone with a unique type of magic?
He was unable to do so with Garlon due to nothing being left of him, but with Heino, would it allow him to unlock a new type of magic? Would Raze also be able to use Time magic?
If he did, the combination with his powerful items that he created, which would often have a curse involved, would be negated. This thought, this power, was exactly what he needed to allow him to fight off those like the Grand Magus.
In the middle of his thoughts, Raze had mostly been using his earth magic to set up barriers between the two. It was most effective at stopping the gunshots, and also, it didn’t matter if Heino would freeze these targets.
The main issue was there wasn’t much in terms of his earth ability that he could do to fight and battle against Heino.
Now though, he was ready with another thought in his mind. As Raze lowered both of the walls he made, his hands no longer held any sword, and he just had Dark Magic grasped in them.
He saw the bullets coming ahead, and Raze had decided to match them. He fired with his hands, and as the Dark magic reached the bullets, it was destroying them before they even had the chance to explode.
Dark Magic was constantly swirling around Raze’s palm and firing out small projectiles. This wasn’t quite the dark pulse; it was weaker, but it didn’t matter.
Raze’s dark magic had reached a high level. He was now a seven-star mage, and the amount of death that was in the surrounding areas, the amount of death he had caused at the start of his life before, despite Heino’s power, it had all gone to his ring, adding the affinity to his Dark Magic, making it extremely powerful.
While firing off Dark magic, Raze didn’t stop using his foot techniques that he had learned along with his lightning powers to move him from location to location.
Raze was fighting with what only looked like magic, but even now, he was using Pagan techniques.
“You might be able to block my bullets for now, but I can do something more powerful in mind, but before that, there is something else I need to do.” Heino stopped firing both of his guns.
He quickly froze them in the air by his side as he went and reached for the necklace around his neck. While holding it, he activated it and said a few words.
“Destroy, that Blazer!” Heino claimed.
Right at that moment, Raze’s blazer had broken off from his body. It shattered instantly, breaking off into nothing but small particles.
This was the power of one of the artifacts that Heino held with him. Now, Heino grabbed the guns and placed them both together.
Right at the tip, the condensed energy was charging into a larger beam and shot right out toward Raze.
As Raze stood there, he also placed both of his hands together and fired out a large dark pulse. The two energies collided with each other, exploding. When the area cleared up, Raze could see that Heino was no longer in front of him.
He had done the same thing again, disappearing and reappearing back where he was not too long ago, with his Mana intact.
“That doesn’t matter to me,” Raze thought as wings started to spread out, made from his Qi, from his back, and on the ghost blade which was in his hand.
Not only that, but Heino noticed something: his Blazer, it was back on his body. It was there again as if it had never been destroyed in the first place.
‘Impossible…how was it able to do such a thing, unless that item’s effect is even greater than the power of mine…that can’t be possible though,’ Heino thought.
Before Heino knew it, Raze was moving even faster than before, using the Dark Wing formation. It was allowing him to travel through the air even faster. As he moved, he was leaving a trail of darkness behind him.
Raze, constantly moving, was swinging his sword out toward Heino, who was reacting as he fired and would freeze the attacks, but now the dark magic was lingering in the air as well, blocking his view as he had frozen several of the attacks.
“Haha, you think this is enough?” Heino asked as he placed his hand around his necklace once more. “Maybe I can’t get rid of that blazer, but I can get rid of other things.”
Raze had appeared right behind Heino with the sword in his hand.
“Get rid of that sword!” Heino claimed, and right after saying those words, the sword had disappeared, turning into nothing but particles.
The ghost blade that Raze had with him for so long, made from special materials, was now gone just like that, but Raze didn’t care as he reached out and grabbed Heino right at the back of his head.
“Got you!” Raze claimed.
“Wrong decision,” Heino replied as he still had the time ring on his finger. “Let me, get rid of your damn soul!”

For a while since the fight had begun, Heino had been playing with his ring constantly. Just like all of the items that were on Heino, all of them were powerful artifacts, and Raze thought the same about this one.
But what level of artifacts could be used which he hadn’t before? Heino was already playing several of his cards, and it was for good reason Raze had the upper hand.
The truth about Heino was that he was a mage who was stuck at the level he was; he was a six-star mage.
The information that Charlotte had given from the beginning, that the leader from Alter was six-star, was the truth. Despite how long he lived, there were those who were also born to only amount to so much.
They could never add extra stars, no matter how great their understanding of magic was. Their bodies just weren’t capable of going through such a thing.
For Heino, it didn’t matter too much, as he had realized to increase his affinity, he couldn’t use the other types of magic, and the longer he went without doing so, the stronger his affinity with time magic became.
At the level of a six-star time mage, he felt like he was unstoppable, since no one else had this type of magic, and even if they did, they weren’t able to get it to the level of power he had.
Why did he have to worry about his star level or other types of mana when he had his time magic, and he could always reverse time and get his mana back? What he didn’t expect was to meet his match, to meet his counter.
A mage who was proficient in using Dark Magic. Just what had gone on in Alterian for it to come to this? Still, with the life Heino lived, he didn’t go through it all without contingencies, and the items on himself were the contingencies.
His necklace gave him the power to break any item he saw, holding it and speaking into it. It had a limit though; it could only be used three times. He had already used it twice, with it failing to break the blazer.
There was no point in using it again. Then he had used it a second time to break what appeared to be the most powerful weapon that was in Raze’s possession. It seemed like a desperate attempt, and Raze had somewhat expected this.
Then there were the guns; if he needed a large amount of power to go against his opponent, he would use them as well. These were all of the preparations that he had made if he was to fight even those who could somehow combat his Time magic.
It was safe to say that Heino believed he could beat any mage, including those who called themselves the Grand Magus.
With all the items used so far, he didn’t expect much from the ring in his hand, until he saw the smile on Raze’s face.
‘I just need to touch him, and if I do that…then I’ll drain his power away!’ Raze thought.
At the same time, Heino was thinking along the same lines.
‘I knew this, I knew this was the solution you would come up with. To harm a mage in the first place, you need to get close!’
Heino reached out his hand with his fingers glowing as he touched Raze’s body.
“Wrong decision, Let me, get rid of your damn soul!”
It was an item that could only be used twice, and learning its effects and power, it had already been used once in the past before. Now it only had a one-time use, but it was worth it.
The hand of Heino pushed right against Raze’s chest, and a strange force flowed right through Raze. It chucked him back in the air as he was flung. He bounced across the ground several times and then lay there right on the floor.
Heino quickly used his skill to revert time on himself and gain his mana back. When he looked around the field, he could see Raze on the floor.
“Haha, haha, and it’s as easy as that!” Heino said, the ring on his finger then breaking; no longer could it be used.
‘That ring, it had the power to extract one’s soul straight from its body,’ Heino thought. ‘The heart, the body itself is still alive, but it’s like an empty vessel. The actual person, the consciousness, all of it, is no longer present…I’ve won this battle…I’ve won this war…and when I head to Alter, I will rebuild my empire back there again.’
Heino was smiling to himself, his hand covering his mouth, when he stopped because he could see movement, movement coming from Raze.
His body was moving, and his arm had pushed himself up from the ground.
‘No, that’s impossible, how could this have happened?’ Heino thought. ‘The ring, it’s broken, which means the item actually did its job, it worked. It couldn’t be because of the blazer he’s wearing. This item should even transcend that.
This can’t be happening, this is impossible.’
When Raze finally stood up, his head felt slightly lightheaded, but his body was fine. Even after getting hit hard enough to toss him so far, there was no wound on his stomach, or anything of the sort.
“What just happened? My mind, my shoulders, all of it feels lighter than before?” Raze thought, but he couldn’t figure it out.
“How, are you even a human!” Heino shouted out, clearly frustrated. “How are you able to move? You shouldn’t no longer even be in your body anymore!”
Too angry to even hide what the item did, Heino was just shouting out words.
“I shouldn’t be in my body?” Raze repeated, giving him an idea of what the item might do and what it might have just done to him.
“Are you there?” Raze asked…and there was no reply.

Out of the countless battles that were taking place around the battlefield, the closest one to the Dark Magus and Heino was between Beatrix and Impress. The battles had several pockets of space due to the large amount of movement that would take place.
And, there were those who were just afraid that they would get hit or hurt by the powerful Qi that was being used nearby.
Beatrix was finding it hard to find a way to beat Impress. Thanks to the weapon given to her by Raze, she was able to last this long. She was phasing in and out of attacks.
Even creating opportunities to strike at Impress’s body, whether that be her head, her heart, or anywhere else, but the power of the sword she was holding, the sword that was giving her the power of immortality, it was seemingly impossible to beat.
Large-scale attacks had been used by Beatrix, and she had even focused on attacking the hand that wielded the sword, thinking that maybe if she could break it away, it would stop the healing.
However, no cut was large enough to even stop her from holding onto the sword, and there was now another major problem brewing.
“What is it!” Impress said with a laugh as she dived right at Beatrix, who quickly phased through her attack and her body until she had reached the other side.
When Beatrix reappeared, she saw another strike coming for her head, and she had to use the ability of the sword again.
“You’re getting slower, I can tell. You’re finally running out of Qi, energy…no, that can’t be it, this feels different, this feels like something else altogether, what is it?”
Beatrix was trying to create distance, but she knew what the problem was herself: the curse of the weapon. Each time she used the phasing, she was growing older.
Even if it was yet to be visibly different for her, she could feel it in her body. No longer could she just block attacks or move out of the way, using the phasing when it was truly needed.
Now she was needing to use it to avoid even easier strikes she would have blocked before. The issue with that, the more she used the item, the more her body would slow down.
What else could she do though, let Impress strike her down and for her to lose the fight?
‘I thought…I thought I would have figured out a way by now, figured out a way to get rid of her, but I can’t!’ Impress thought. ‘Now all I can do is rely on the power of the weapon to even survive, but eventually doing that, I’ll just die.
Do I let her strike me, do I just keep using the curse until my heart can no longer beat? Is this really how Impress will live…she gets to live freely as head of the Dawnblade clan after everything she’s done!’
Impress was screaming in her head as she delivered another strike after phasing. One filled with powerful Qi that struck the top of her head right through until her sword hit the ground.
Yet Impress, even in the middle of being struck, went out to strike herself. Beatrix had phased, moving back, and as she did, she let the phasing end slightly quick, and the tip of the sword had cut across close to her collarbone.
‘Crap, I tried to use as little of the phasing as possible to buy me time, but that’s useless as well…should I just give up then?’
Losing determination, Beatrix was at a loss of what to do, unaware of what was happening so close by.
Heino on the battlefield with Raze had just used his special ring. He had hit Raze, aiming to detach his soul from his body. That was what the ring did after all, but there was a grave miscalculation on Heino’s part.
Something he didn’t know, something he couldn’t have known: that in Raze’s body, there was more than just one soul attached to it.
The power of the ring, at that moment, had removed the blood woman. She felt herself being rejected out of Raze’s body and being flung out across the field.
Her body was a floating ball of energy in the sky. She could see that she was far away from where Raze’s body was in the distance and couldn’t believe it herself.
‘How…how could this have happened…? The power of that item, I didn’t even know there was such a thing…I have no idea what that ring does, but there’s a chance I can’t even return to the original body…’ the bloody woman thought.
This was the feeling that Raze felt, why he had felt lighter than before, and after learning of Heino’s explanation, this is what he had believed had happened as well.
To test that, he tried to speak to the bloody woman, but there was no answer, there was no reaction whatsoever. The bloody woman didn’t speak much, but in this situation, he imagined she would have done, and yet there was silence, confirming his thoughts, as well as his narrow escape.
What was worse for the bloody woman was she could feel it. Although she was a powerful ball of energy now, it was fading away; her energy was turning into nothing or becoming part of the world of Pagna.
‘If I don’t do something quick…I will be gone from this world forever.’
The blood woman started to search as she looked through the area for what she could do.
‘Think, I have to do something, but I can’t just attach myself to someone weak…but I can’t be too picky either.’
As she looked around, she had discovered a battlefield not too far from her. In a desperate attempt, she rushed ahead, attracted to a particular feeling, the thought of death.
“I will just have to use you for now!” The bloody woman thought as she had entered into Beatrix’s body.

The struggle of what to do against Impress was real for Beatrix. She still had plenty of Qi to use in her fight, but the issue wasn’t Qi.
The issue was the weapon in her hand. Already having given it her all, with her mind and body, she knew it; she was at a loss, and it was only a matter of time, before she would either have to age to death or get cut up by Impress.
It was hard for her to think this way, hard for her to admit it, which was why she continued to fight on.
Eventually, she had backed herself away, almost into a corner. She then used Ricar’s item quickly to change the terrain surrounding the entirety of where Impress was.
She built walls upon walls, so at least Impress would have to cut through a few of them before she could get out.
Using this, she now at least could catch a break for a moment, because she could feel it; she was at a turning point with her weapon.
If she used the phasing any more now, she would age too much, to the point she was too slow to avoid any of Impress’s attacks.
As she rested, racking her head, she could hear the sound of the walls being broken down.
‘I used my Qi to use the item that Ricar gave me, but I don’t even know what purpose it served, me resting like this,’ Beatrix said as she placed her sword in the ground and leant on it.
She tilted her head back and started to look into the sky, and that’s when something had hit her. She felt a pain enter through her body.
The first sensation wasn’t through her skin but was coming from the inside. A burning sensation as if her blood had just been lit on fire.
“ARGHH! What is this!” Beatrix said as she fell to the ground and was on one knee, her hand still by the handle of her sword.
She was grunting in pain, and immediately she could see the sweat falling from her head onto the ground.
“Is it because of the weapon? No, Raze never told me of an effect like this!”
The energy was frantically moving about in her body. It almost felt like a foreign Qi had entered her and was trying to destroy, trying to take over.
“ARGHH!” Beatrix screamed again.
“Give up, let me take over, let me use this body!”
A voice had entered into her head. Beatrix was still unsure about what was going on fully, but it was quite clear that the voice was not her own.
“You should just let me use this how I want…I need to live…I need to live and get back there!” The voice continued to shout and echo.
Without realizing it, Beatrix was starting to have changes appear in her own body. Her hair was changing color; the ends were turning red instead of the bright blonde shade of her hair.
It was growing even larger in length. Her nails were glowing slightly, but her body, it also was starting to feel stronger than before.
‘But…this isn’t my strength,’ Beatrix thought. ‘It’s whatever is taking over me.’
The bloody woman had entered inside of Beatrix. At the time, she had failed to take over Raze’s body due to the injuries she had sustained, due to the failed ritual bringing her into his body.
Who would have thought that there would be two spirits trying to enter the body of the dead at the same time?
This time though, she was trying to take over. She had waited as her strength grew, but it wasn’t enough. She had been forced out of Raze’s body far too early.
In that process, she had felt it; while she was outside, part of her energy had dwindled away. It was only for a few moments, but with no body, her energy had weakened again.
Which was why she was stuck in this situation.
‘I had chosen this body because it seemed to be the strongest one nearby, but will that be my downfall now, because of what is happening?’ the bloody woman thought.
‘I won’t let you take over!’ Beatrix shouted again. ‘I can’t, not before I kill this woman. I need to avenge Ricar, I need to make sure she gets what’s coming to her.’
Both of the women had a similar will; both of them were incredibly strong; neither of them wanted to give up.
Constantly, the color of Beatrix’s hair was changing; the red from the tips was growing up to the roots, but then it would quickly be pushed back.
And then, the worst situation had occurred; Impress had broken out of the last wall and was back on the battlefield, staring at Beatrix.
She had paused for a moment as she didn’t understand what her opponent was going through.
“What…is going on?” Impress thought.
She could feel it, something that was telling her not to go ahead and strike. A powerful Qi that was shaking the entire floor.
Until the Qi had stopped, Beatrix’s head was facing down. The changes to her nails growing in length were the same.
The changes to her hair, half of it was red, the other half blonde, and finally, Beatrix had lifted her head up.
“Who…am I?” Beatrix asked.
One of her eyes was blue, the other was a dark brown.
“Oh…I remember, you…you were the one that had killed Ricar?” Beatrix asked as she picked up the sword half-heartedly and then placed it down, almost dragging it by her side.
“Right…right everything is coming back to me now,” Beatrix said with a smile.
Beatrix was born anew; the blood woman had failed to take over. She had practically disappeared, but her energy and her consciousness had completely disappeared; it had combined with Beatrix’s, turning her into a completely new person.

“Haha, what is this, some type of final form!” Impress laughs. “You scared me for a moment with that Qi of yours, but it seems that it’s all disappeared. No matter what you do, you can’t kill me!”
Impress rushed forward with a creepy smile on her face. The constant attacks that she had to keep to the back of her mind were getting to her, almost making it seem like she had gone mad.
When she came forward, the entire blue translucent sword, it was covered in a red glow. Beatrix swung her arm, and the red glow left the sword.
Impress had hardly seen anything as she felt a loud thud on her entire chest, and she could see Beatrix getting smaller and smaller.
Her back crashed against a wall that was risen to stop her from being flung even further.
“I tried the sword, but it’s not suited to my style too much,” Beatrix said as she stuck it in the ground. “But I’m happy to know that you managed to survive that.”
Impress lifted herself from the wall as her body had returned to normal. She still didn’t understand what was happening, so she did what she had been doing the whole fight so far.
She charged forward with the same ferocity as she had done so far, as if there was nothing that could take her down.
When Impress got close, she swung the sword with Qi, performing her techniques or lack thereof. That was something else that had disappeared as she continued to cheat death again and again.
However, this time, Beatrix was avoiding them all, even without the use of her special sword. She was that much faster than the other, and when she was sick of it,
The powerful red aura had formed around her arm; it was swirling as if blood was levitating. A punch was delivered to her cut upward, and all of the beads of blood were sent with it.
In an instant, Impress could now see the whole battlefield below from a bird’s-eye view, and almost her entire stomach was gone.
“Am I…falling back down?”
The crazy thing about the whole situation was, Impress was still holding onto the sword, and because of that, her body was starting to heal again.
As she was falling through the air, she gripped her hand around the sword, ready to strike. Her Qi building up, she swung it right down where Beatrix was.
At the same time, strange blood was swirling around both arms of Beatrix as she swung it up to combat the strike.
As the attack hit and the Qi disappeared, Impress was witnessing something oddly strange; she could see her own blood being flung from her in a different direction.
“If I can’t get and break it, then we just need to do some tests, right?” Beatrix asked.
She grabbed Impress’s head and then flung it to the ground, making it splatter like a watermelon. Impress’s head was no longer. But the sword was still present, and the body attached to it, it was starting to regrow, the whole head appearing just like before, and Impress had found herself alive once again.
Even for her, that was a fearful and frightful shock. She almost threw up but was somehow able to hold it together.
After a few moments of realization, she realized.
“I really can’t die, no matter what, this sword, it’s like it’s linked to me! Even though you’ve gotten so powerful, all of it is useless because I have this sword in my hand!”
As Impress said those words, she looked around the place because she couldn’t see where Beatrix was until she felt a great force grab her from behind.
She was flung right to the floor, and then several red beads of blood were floating above Beatrix. These beads of blood landed on her body, breaking the bones in her body and made it so she stayed put down on the floor.
With her foot, Beatrix stood on top of the arm holding onto the sword.
“Let’s try some tests first,” Beatrix said as she swung her fist down, not directly at the arm but in the air. The power of the punch though had destroyed everything that was in its path.
No longer was the arm attached to the rest of the body, and now there was at least a good length between the hand holding onto the sword and the shoulder.
From there, Beatrix could see the arm growing across, trying to reach back to the rest of its body.
“I imagine if I destroy the whole body, you would then just grow from the sword. This certainly is fit to be one of the most powerful swords; it’s no wonder a group like Alter would have this.
It’s no wonder what you would have decided to get your hands on something like this,” Beatrix commented.
“Haha, Haha!” Impress just continued to laugh; she was saying next to no words. Not that anything she spoke was of substance in the first place.
“Well, there is one sure way to get rid of you and stop all of this,” Beatrix said. “So before I do that, I just want to tell you something. Without this sword, you would have lost to me in every damn way. The way I am now, you couldn’t even touch me.”
The red aura started to spin at extreme speeds around her arm. When it had reached a particular point and velocity, she threw it down, and this time the attack was targeted at the sword itself.
When the fist was thrown, the spinning blood had gathered right in front of her hand as it landed right on the sword.
The force of the Qi itself, along with the red aura, appeared to be spinning. It continued to spin, hitting the sword, until a crack started to appear, and moments later, the entire sword shattered.
When Impress saw this…it felt like her own mind had shattered at the exact same time.
“It’s a shame, that sword could have been good in other’s hands, but this was the only way I could think of beating you.”
